There was a loosen white plastic cover, inside the door, and some of the screws needed to be retightened. I put some duct tape around all the connectors and cables too, and now it's finally quite.

It doesn't strain my eyes in the slightest. On the contrary i find it very soothing to me. A good change from the mismatched OEM colors.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The anti drain back filter valve should stop them from draining back to the sump from the outside of the filter medium. Then my understanding was that with a "full flow filter system" the oil goes direct from the sump to and through the filter so if any specs went down into the sump they would very quickly be strained out on the way back by the filter next time round, unless extremely fine. I thought the bulk of visible particles including machining shards would only have been shed in the first few kilometers and they were what I was aiming to remove by changing the oil. I was surprised that the sparkly particles were large enough to be visible too. I am missing something so please explain.

Here's what I got when I googled oil path in engine
"tube with a loose-weave metal screen at the bottom of the pan. The screen is attached to a pickup tube, which leads directly to the oil pump.

From the pump, it goes to the outside of the oil filter, and there it is forced through the filter media to the center, where it exits into the oil galleries inside the engine. "

You're both absolutely right

Let's say that I'm not into detailing In my defense, I drive every day 2 miles on a dusty-gravel road. So the car and the engine bay are not -and won't be- clean (we are finally getting tarmac during the summer). Got the hose very cheap, so i couldn't let it go

Well, Roth ....... to make everyone happy, I suggest you spray paint that piece flat black ..... then drive down your dusty road before the paint dries .....
