Oil Temp and Pressure Sender Location?
Engine block or oil cooler sandwich plate? Which gives the most accurate reading?
Thank you. |

Consistency is what I'd focus on, rather than looking for "most accurate" to be honest. Find the norm ranges and be cognizant of them, so if there is a time it's out of that norm, you can know something changed

Temp = Sump
Pressure = OEM Switch Location (timing cover) |

I take my temp and pressure from the sandwich plate. I "remote mounted" my pressure sensor with a 12" braided line. Jackson Racing makes fittings for their sandwich plate. While I agree that sump temp may be more accurate, most of us just need to know when things are going south in a very bad way.

I’m trying the ‘Glowshift 1/8 BSPT GT86 Sensor Thread Adapter’.
It installed simply and the Innovate temp and pressure sensors threaded in perfectly along with the OEM pressure sensor it displaces. No readings yet. I’m just mid-install of the gauge package.

That's a whole lotta meat hanging off a small brass fitting. Any reliability issues with that? I'm not saying no, but my spidy senses are tingling.

good call. First time I opened the post, the second image didn't load, and the top one was thumbnail size. I assumed by the color of the threads that the fitting was brass. stupid interweb is playing tricks on me.

I wonder if that's why I'm seeing pressure fluctuations at 2 RPM ranges under steady state cruising.
