After some final minor changes with a few people's comments, I think I'm done with planning the road trip.

9 days, 5124 miles and 98.5 hours of driving total (estimated). Coming back home 2 days earlier which will give me a couple more days to rest up, clean the car, and get ready for new job after July 4th festivities!!

That's a lot of miles. Change your oil right before you leave so it'll be good the whole way.

And from experience with long road trips, put some glass cleaner, quick detailer, and microfiber cloths in the trunk. Thoroughly clean your windows every morning before setting off; it only takes 10 minutes. Smeared bug guts, bird crap, and dirt caked onto the window and catching sunlight is a hell of a stupid reason to crash. The quick detailer is in case anything bad gets on the paint, you can clean it off before it causes damage.

Even I get frustrated/bored/butthurt/angry with the forum users every now and then and just go away for a week or two. I eventually get over it and come back and carry on. Some day I just won't come back and the place will continue as if I never existed.

If you feel the forum "sucks" you can try to do what you can to change it, learn to live with it and the diversity of people that it contains or just not come back. I have seen 100s come and go and although I really miss some of them it is their call if they stay or leave.

I make loads of jokes about the amount of time I (and others) spend here but am under no illusion that people are going to change just because I would like them to.
