A few details
We've been working with the 86cup creators to get 86cup bootstrapped in the rocky mountain region, in concert with NASA. The events will be part of the regular NASA Rocky Mountain region season. You can see our web page to see when and where the events will take place.
We'v have a number awesome sponsors and contingencies lined up through GT Radial, Leroy Engineering, Counter Space Garage, TrackDecals.com and SRC Performance. https://rockymountain86.com/sponsors Car wise pretty much you need a BRZ/FR-S/86 and the series is setup so that you can compete without a large upfront investment. You can look at the https://86cup.us website to see how the point system works and where your car would class. We're super excited to bring 86cup in the rocky mountain region as we think it will offer a great venue for drivers to compete in a low cost series. If you've never done motorsports before this a great way to get started. NASA is a the National Auto Sports Association, it's a national organization focused on motorsports, and offers a comprehensive driver instruction program. New drivers will be assigned an instructor who will work with them to gain the skills to be competitive in motorsports. Drivers advance within the instruction program and compete when they are ready - they advance at their own pace with guided coaching. A typical experience for a new student is to receive 1 on 1 coaching throughout the weekend, both on track and in classroom. Drivers are grouped by skill level, so at any given point in time drivers are on track with other similarly skilled drivers, creating a safe environment for drivers to advance a their own pace. Drivers pass various evaluations on their way to competition, new drivers won't compete until they are ready to compete. If you already have motorsports experience but haven't competed with NASA before, you can reach out us and we'll help you in contact with the right people with NASA. Here is what you'd need to do to join us for the first event of the season:
Our goal is to create a great place for these cars to compete and build a series that encompasses all driver skill levels. At the meeting we'll answer any questions you have and talk about our current sponsors and contingencies. |
