FR-S vs BRZ cloth seats

Looks like BRZ cloth seats will be using better materials:

I don't know... The FRS center material looks a bit smoother. The BRZ one looks a bit scratchy.

FR-S looks like velour, BRZ more simple woven - but maybe I am deceived by the picturequality.

We'll have to wait and see. Perhaps those that have actually sat in the car can comment on the materials, though having one person with experience in both seats might be tough to come by at this point in time.

I would hazard a guess that the black bolster fabric and red stitching are identical between the seats; the photography white balance is likely different between the two pictures. Hopefully, the center cushion material is nice on the BRZ, the pattern looks OK from here.

Personally, the red patches on the shoulders look cheap and pretentious. I would've preferred red inserts in the cushions like the JDM 86.

Yes, they are different. There are three different interior trim options out of the factory, "low grade fabric", "high grade fabric", and the leather. It looks to me like the FR-S is going with the low grade and the BRZ is going with the high grade. I'm sure leather is an option for both.

Frs looks to have the whole seat covered in micro suede where it looks like only the bolsters are for the the brz. Brz looks to have a heavier fabric in the rest of the seat.

My current car has a similar seat to the brz as far as materials and while the microsude is durable it starts to look worn sooner than traditional fabrics. The suede feeling starts to get worn flat even though it is still in good shape

Scion doesn't do options.

I liked the seat material of the FR-S. It's a nice grippy fabric that looks pretty nice in person... at least that's what I thought.

Options, add-ons, factory aftermarket. It's all the same thing.

I think the heavier woven material on the BRZ will wear better in the long run.

At the DC auto show I sat in the BRZ. The cloth seats felt amazing. The overall seat felt like it was hugging you. Can't wait for a test drive.

No it isn't. Read what you originally wrote again. Scion won't have an option for leather seats. They won't. Only BRZ limited will have leather.

To extent, maybe.

Factory installed options usually are the most significant possible variations and come with the smallest comparative cost.

Port options cover a wide range of options, but most fill a void, rather than replacing an existing component.

Dealer Installed Accessories/Dealer Provided Options, traditionally, have the largest mark up and typically are replacing an existing component. This means you pay for your factory spring and on top of that pay for Parts + Labor on the TRD strings you want added on.

Most people, when speaking of options mean either port or factory installed.

i dont think the stitching should not be universally red and instead color match the exterior
