Or I could just go off the article that I already posted that pre-dates all of the ones that strat did. There are ones out there far pre-dating it when the car wasn't even a mule yet and they're even more vague, with various degrees of credibility of course.

No, we're not talking about being 10 minutes late. If you fail to see the difference in this context that it isn't even worth discussing further with you. Automakers would kill to have the weight difference between what was quoted and what came to be in this particular case.
What four are we talking about now?

It is a less than 10% miss if we even remotely consider that somebody officially said 2,500. That is well within a margin of error on an early stage project estimate. No doubt if they could have got it to the target and still met all the safety requirements they would have. They didn't just randomly add weight to it.

At this point the MR still remains a mystery with not a single OFFICIAL word from Toyota in ages. The whole project may have been scrapped for all we know.

The original front is pretty good already. You're right need the fender bumps. But the back looks like it is a lift-back which is very practical!

Looks too much like a cross between an 86 and a TC.

Welcome back Dim! Glad to have some more backup on this.

But did that concept weight 2,500 pounds and have a WRX engine?

Yeah a lift/hatch would be nice but I'd prefer a higher roofline if that's the case. Make it (almost) a shooting brake and add some actual cargo capacity with a nearly vertical tailgate. Tall enough to put tires in standing up would be nice rather than having to finagle them in.
