@Tcoat the TRD exhaust and aftermarket exhaust connects to the overpipe and it's the same part number on the 2013 FR-S to 2017 Toyota 86.

It was axlebacks that are affected with the new flange, catbacks are fine.

BINGO..!!

The Op asked if the TRD exhaust could be swapped to the new 86 and the answer is yes and there's no problem installing the 86's exhaust on the FR-S.

The 2017 86 "Midpipe" changed so older fr-s/86 axleback exhaust won't fit.

LOL So I was right in the first place (back then) and let people convince me I was wrong and now I am wrong by using the same argument I used back then proves I was right in the first place. Shit now I am confused.
Good info. The Part numbers were not available back in the original threads.

@Tcoat this link is for a 2013-2016 fr-s with that said parts #5, #9, and #12 are different on the 2017 86. With that said if you're replacing the exhaust with the TRD catback it fits because it connects to the front pipe and the fitting hasn't changed at that connection.

Note part 5,9,and 12
