Asking dealer to transfer my TRD exhaust to the new vehicle when I trade it in?

I remember reading something similar here, the guy asked the dealer transfer some of his stuff from the car he was trading in to the new one. Is this even possible?

Oh, I reckon it is possible, if the dealer is willing and it would fit.

If so, I'd suggest you make it a part of the deal ..... in writing.

Problem is I don’t have the stock FR-S exhaust, do you know if the 86 exhaust would fit a 2013 FR-S?

How about asking the dealer not us? we can guess and express opinions but the dealer can say yes or no.
They can do whatever you want them to do if you have deep enough pockets.

Now that is a reasonable question for us!
No it will not. Exhaust was changed.

Oh, that sucks. I’ll go Saturday and talk to them, I’m just asking around to get an idea on how things work.

Sounds to me like you would be best off trading in your old car with the TRD exhaust system on it then putting a new TRD exhaust on the new car.

Even if it would fit ...... they would charge you an arm & leg for the swap ....... you just wouldn't know how or where they charged you ......

What are you talking about? There were minor changes, but they both bolt on the same.
Sauce: Have both 2014 and 2017 oe exhaust in storage.

If I was a dealer I would not do it for you. Too much additional work and headache, and for what? For you to come back with a potential issue? How to handle...they sold it that way or they modified a brand new car?

If I were you,
Go on Craigslist or on the FS forum either get an OE exhaust and put it on your car before trading in, or get TRD exhaust and put it on the new car.

I guess bigger question, is it even worth it for you to get an 86 to replace an FR-S? auto/manual? 5 hp? color?

There are whole threads on how the flange is different and has to be altered to fit.

IMHO for the cost of the TRD exhaust there are better aftermarket exhausts to buy.
Dealership told me that and I'm glad I didn't buy a TRD.

That was my understanding as well until several people reported flange issues going onto the 17s. The link I provided was only once instance of many reported. Perhaps the spacing on the TRD flange is a bit wider so fits them all.
