Giving a class for 8 hours straight to seemingly reluctant participants on complicated shit that takes months of practice to understand kinda sucks. Ask me how I know.

On the other hand, one crazy-ass deadline down, one to go! Next week is going to be great! I get to take a day off!

We're you just certified as a flight instructor, or did you actually teach in a classroom? Those are very different things.

Plus, most people who get flight instruction actually want to be pilots though... Classroom work, while "boring" is still given to people interested in passing it. In my case, I'm the one who gets graded...

I actually know quite a few flight instructors. Some taught ... advanced flight maneuvers ... in the San Diego area ... in the mid 80s. Apparently it was a fun time. Totally not jealous...

Oh I taught ground, flight, SIM (well ATD not full-motion), instrument, commercial, even made some instructors. I have students who are in the miltary now. Granted yes, most of them thought they knew what they were signing up for when they started.. but I taught everybody from young to old, spoiled to self-made, foriegn to domestic, and they all had different goals from just wanting to fly themselves to work, joining the military, becoming airline pilots, or corporate pilots like ended up finally giving in to. So no I wasn't JUST a flight instructor (though I do know the types who just plow through the rating and few students to move up to something bigger), but yeah I guess they were mostly committed. The ground school was often only like 70-80% people who would actually do more than a promotional intro flight though. There were some people who got it as a gift or just wanted to learn about flying but didn't care for going 2000mph with their hair on fire... but I still welcomed them to the class like anyone else as long they participated constructively. Of course the worst jokes were my own anyway but if you're not having fun you're not learning. There were a few occasions of students who just had money to burn and not caring as much as I would like but I didn't sign anyones book who would have killed themselves, knock-on-wood.

Makes me think of this from when my kids were little.

"What's a Pierogi?" "It's a dough, wrapped around meat"
