Good to know. You have the aux charger correct?

Yup but it wouldn't have mattered in my opinion.

@Shiv@Openflash Any update on PROcede shipping status? It's been over a week since the supposed ship date. Not trying to rush it but we were told it was ready for orders/shipping 2 weeks ago so just want a realistic ETA. Thanks.

Say you are using this at a place like nürnbergring aka the ring in germany.

You are not a race car driver, some track experience, normal day, some traffick.

How well/long will the newest esc phantom hold up ?

The esc is not an endurance racing product...It will not hold charge on the ring lol.

With the aux charger you do get very good recharge but it is still meant for street or autocross applications only.

In stock form you have about a minute and a half of boost...yes you will be charging a bit on off-throttle and braking but you aren't going to get a full 10 minute track session out of it.

Adding the aux charger will get your charge rate up but you are still asking alot of a system that is meant to be used "on demand" not "all the time"

For the street the system is perfect....more than enough boost than you will ever need, especially with the aux charger. For autocross it can work well one session at a time. For track use it is not recommended...its not built for those kind of duty cycles.

I will track mine once to see how the unit holds up.

But the ring is way to open(fast) and has a straightaway that measures over 1.25 miles. No way the ESC/batteries can handle that. In fact I doubt it would make much of a difference. Once up to speed on a track that size its about maintaining speed, not pure acceleration. You would need High HP to make a difference.

That being said...once I track mine (either a 1.8mile or 2.5 mile course) I will let everyone know my experience.

I understand its a question of curiousity, but its like using a hammer on a screw. You could do it, but its the wrong tool for the job.

I only use the hammer method when I screw. 😉

Thanks for awesome replies.

The Ring was just an example, from what Ive heard the straight is severely limited(speed)public days, remember most auto journalist and video bloggers part take in closed or arranged events with chosen track setup.

Next question: would a «long load» setting be a smart feature for this kind of use?

Would it not be better to make it only activate over a certain regen and lower Volt limit setting for long load use as it already is on the car and procede controller is making such linear power delivery possible in stead of turning it off ?

As soon as shiv releases the procede software you would of have this option as a custom setting you make.

Edit:

Let me rephrase:

You could setup the procede to not activate the electric motor at full speed and instead at a lower speed. This will prolong the batteries for a longer track session. You wouldn't get full boost but you could get partial boost.
