Fire Extinguisher Mount
I had a good buddy of mine who also owns a Towing business fab up a " ] " bracket for me for a trackday I have due tomorrow. Initially I wasn't going to go because of the previous mods - require a tune. And I don't think the car is 100%. I didn't even bother changing the engine oils and fluids let alone switch to my track wheel setup(RPF1 + KU36). Anyway, the track day was paid months in advance @ $280 so I might as well use it.
Here are some pics of the 2kg fire extinguisher installed under the drivers side seat. I'm a short ass so the seat is slid all the way up front, the bucket seat does not hit the F/E which is good. I'm considering using this one from now on since it works so well, and then sell off the STM F/E bracket which was pre-ordered.

Barbagallo Track day
First time out at Barbagallo Raceway yesterday.
My best time on the short circuit was 1:02.1670 seconds, happy with that considering I was on my daily PS3's. In hindsight I should have put on my KU36's, oh well. I managed to weigh my car on the weigh bridge they have there. Was quite happy with the result... (NOTE: Curb weight of a stock Toyota 86 GTS Manual is: 1275 kg) 1205.0 kgs .. with exactly HALF TANK and NO occupants. Some pictures of the day.

HKS Oil Cooler Installed
Install at workshop..
Tidying up the install at home... Removed the black drilled panel which restricts airflow to the radiator. Decided to remove it as I thought the oiled cables were too tight and slightly blocked the HKS CAI. Received this ridiculously quick from @HKS Australia Email order sent 2:30pm Perth time(the are in eastern states), received plugs 2pm the next day. To be installed next week and the car re-tuned. These plugs cost LESS than the equivalent Toyota Branded DENSO plugs. New set of HKS Superfire Racing Spark Plugs M40HL(Heat Rating: 8)

Did you ever move your third brake light? I did read through every post (awesome car!), but didn't see any followup on this.

I have a stalker
A kind soul brought up to my attention some crazy ass stalker ho who's trying to imitate my car.
Also a heads up for anyone in the market for a used(and abused) 86 GT on the market. There's a certain GT that's on Gumtree.. or was it Carsales?? that's done just shy over 20,000 clicks on the ODO. They are asking for the price of a NEW GT(but without the fees) which I think is DELUSIONAL. Whatever drugs that munchkin is on.. I WANT SOME TOO. Car is worth low 20's.. if that. It's been thrashed at the track and a couple of statics(burnouts for the uninitiated) here and there during Zx6 cruises. Apparently its ALSO a chop-shop repairo jobbie so for any prospective 86 please keep your eyes peeled and keep the FCUK away from it. How I know? Heard it straight from the horses mouth.. err keyboard. /Zx6CommunityServiceAnnouncement (hey, some of these Zx6 newbs need all the help they can get, eg: NO FIRE EXTINGUISHER in a Force Induction Car? LOL WUT) Also, I hope there aren't any more douchey-tardy 86/BRZ owners hopping onboard for Zx6 ownership.. tards like this will give us owners a bad name From Antilag forums.. Oh yeah, had two photoshoots from different photographers for my car, it's been waaay long overdue. Now I can take off my go-fast stickers(HKS/TRD/PERRIN) now that the shoots are finished. Maybe a pic might make it up onto 7Tune once again..

TODA POWAAAAAA
Quote:
Add to that list the PERRIN silicon intake tube(heatwrapped in DEI Reflect-A-Gold). In regards to the TODA.. the day it was installed(in conjunction with NEW OEM spec spark plugs(I ordered the wrong heat rating HKS plugs so I had to re-order a new set), CUSCO earthing kit and OKADA Projects coil pack(4) I noticed a slight gain on the 'butt dyno'. And as everyone knows, the butt dyno does not lie, LOL. But yeah, I noticed an improvement with the TODA.. not sure if it was JUST the TODA, or the cumulative effect of the other 3-5 mods. I'm probably going to get a before and after dyno for R&D purposes probably next week or fortnight to see if the $1k for that TODA was really worth it. I'll be keeping the results to myself though cos of a fair few haters hate on me for no reason. Act all nice and cordial in person, but talk shit about me behind my back, can't even research up their own shit for their own choice of mods.. Whats funny is that these speds pm me over FB asking where I purchased such-n-such for my car, or how much it cost, and how my tune with another tuner went.. LOL get some originality or do your OWN research on your OWN DIME cheapskate. Speaking of cheap, one of these guys PM'ed me last night asking to use my secured WORK PARKING so he doesn't have to pay for underground parking literally 10 meters away, oh god times must be tough. #YMCMB #YOLOSWAG Another lamer even copied my I/H/E setup(TRD USA Intake, HKS Headers/Motive O-Pipe/Frontpipe) and bagging my claim of 'Perth's Most Modified 86'. What's next.. Bonnet Dampers? K2Gear mats? RexSpeed mirrors? oh wait, the sheep have copied that already. If these guys actually DID any research.. it would be plasti dipped wheels or lambo-doors LOL They should stick to making Coles-recipe-cupcakes which they FAIL at. Or look and search for a JOB.. or a NEW CAR.. and while they are at it, how install and use a fire extinguisher /rant Oh and whoever reads this.. YES this is directed at you. And for anyone looking to buy a 2nd hand RED 86 GT in Perth that was previously hellafail stanced.. DON'T.. its a CHOP SHOP job. The r-tard can't even drive/merge into a lane properly without thinking it's like a Grand Prix in a 40km/hr zone. #illest #Fatlace #lowlyfe #stancenation

So much hate man, thank god I only have k2gears matt that is the same as yours.
But yeah, leave the high school shit to the kids. I can see why you won't be sharing, just curious as I am not sure the throttle body is the limitation for this platform. The coils/plugs just provide a cleaner burn but wouldn't be too much of power boost either, not sure if you can adjust the dwell time using brzedit anways. As for the grounding, not sure that we need it either but more grounding points can't hurt. |
