Just did this myself, including fabricating my own harness, which was probably the most difficult part between sourcing, fabrication, and troubleshooting. I would say, it is possible to do the entire install if you are able to dedicate the day, but testing everything before putting everything back together is a must, even if it sets you back a day.

I also have a couple tips during teardown for anyone else doing this:
  • You probably don't need to fully remove the A pillars, but it may make removing the dash harder. The retention piece on the upper portion is a pain to remove/install, so it sucks either way.
  • The airbag remains attached to the dashboard, just unplug it
  • The cluster surround is very hard to disconnect from the flexible beauty trim that attaches to the steering column trim, you can remove the column trim by turning the steering wheel to get to the screws.
  • Take special care removing the tweeters on the dash, there is only one retaining tab with a very tight fit. I destroyed one of my tweeters, but was replacing it anyway.

If anyone is interested, I did fabricate 4 additional sets and have listed them in the Interior Classifieds. Similar to the original, but I made some improvements to make installation easier after making the first one that went in my car. Specifically, adjusted lengths and grouped the different connections per location to make routing easier.
