Performance Package 86?

Does anyone here know if toyota will release a performance package version of the 86? Sort of like the one in the link below.

Maybe not as a regular version but that could be the next Special Edition here.
The guys that have access to the new codes say they are seeing three levels but don't know what those levels are yet.
My personal guess is a base 86, a GT86 and a PP GT86. This would put things right in line with the BRZ trims and what most of the rest of the world has had all along.

Would be cool if they sold a super basic model for the folks who are just going to replace stuff but that doesn't seem like a money maker for Toyota.

Didn't they have a model like that in Japan? Idk.

That would be nice if it comes out as a new trim. I'm not too fond of these "special" editions because they only seem to be in one color that's usually too outrageous for my tastes.

There will always be "performance packages".
The only thing attractive are the big brakes. Other than that, just buy a used '13 or '14 and make it your own.

They did. I doubt we will see that base here. The "base" will be more like the Premium vs the Limited BRZ.

It is super late in the game now. Seems like we had 17 models out at this point last year.

Not for the FRS/86 in North America there haven't. Don't care what the rest of the world got we are not there.

Bumping this up again. Why no news about 2018s yet? Not expecting anything huge changes but it would be nice to know what trims Toyota is pushing out.
