I've now installed my a/t tires and the wheel/tire combo is perfect. After the trimming and folding of the frame rail, I took a heat gun to the fender liner and molded it back for more room and its entirely intact. The combination with the 16x7+30 gives a few mm of clearance on all sides of the wheel well to full lock with absolutely no rub, no wheel spacers or steering limiters required. The tire is flush in the front with no poke. If i had any more poke, the tire would rub on the liner and bumper, if i had any more suck, the wheel would rub on the inner rail/fender.

how much work do you think would need to be do to fit a 225/55/17 on a 17x8 +38? The tire is 10mm shorter and looking at wheel it fit look to be with in the travel of my current autocross seatup height wise. Currently cursed with brembo, but i went about this all backwards

My inner wheel edge on full lock is about 5 mm of clearance from rubbing the inside frame, which means you might rub on full lock. You will have to do the same frame rail cut and heat gun or removal of the fender liner still. Verus Engineering has a steering limiter kit if you want to run that in the front, but i think that might about the only thing different you will have to do. We might be able to get away with just 1" lift instead of a 1.5" lift. 235/55/17 is another option, i'll eventually get 2 of these to run in the rear when i start to do some rally.

Well if that is the case I might just run staggered with 215/55/17 in the front. I really dont want to start cutting up the frame and what not. Still in the planning phase so I'll continue to research.

Wheel-it-fit https://wheel-it-fit.com

It's like $5 to unlock it. otherwise there's a demo car that you can still get size differences and comparisons

That’s awesome to play around with. Interesting to see the wheel proximity to the springs also.

Made a trip out to the Charlevoix rally over the weekend and much rain was anticipated to make it a slippery mud fest show.

Always nice seeing other cars besides STI’s and seeing what an 86 can do is always a treat.
Unfortunately he DNF due to an off road incident, hopefully it will be repaired in time for his home rally late next month.

More rallying picts in the OT photography tread

Just as an FYI y'all, TBW just released a 5mm thick rally skid plate, so now the Laile imported from japan isn't the only bolt on option, and now a much more affordable option exists.

Got my car in 2016 brand new ... Tracked the he'll of it until end of 2019 (Over 160 Laps in Lusail International Circuit) and when covid hit I switched to Safari mode ( I was inspired by a picture of Safari 911 in the desert of Tunisia)

ADF 2 inch lift kit, Black Rhino 16 inch wheels, Beatrush engine and differential protection armors, Toyo AT 215/65/16 tires, stock air box with Blitz drop in filter, OFT stage 2 tune and full exhaust mix from Toemi and Z.S.S
