Yesterday I was walking Haru at my apartment complex and he went onto one of the mulch areas past a curb. Fortunately it was daytime because if it were nighttime I'd never have seen this inches away from one of his paws:

I don't understand how anyone can be so careless. I'm honestly wondering if it was left there on purpose.

Pretty sure it's done on purpose, especially at playgrounds.

Where this was was in a parking area that's always empty and like 10 spaces away from a trash bin area, not near a load/unloading zone for moving trucks, etc.

Sometimes doing cardio on the elliptical when I can't find anything interesting to stream, I'll watch a murder/mayhem/mystery true crime show and if there's a constant, it's that you really can't judge a book by it's cover. Anyone can be a psychopath. I agree that it was done on purpose. Not that I'm cautious around all of humanity, but as they teach in self defense classes, be aware of your surroundings at all times. I'm glad you spotted that blade.

Yep used to use these sometimes at an old college job. Picked it up easily and tossed it in a garbage bin.

As I posted back in August our little Precious had a severe pulmonic stenosis that required an operation to repair her heart. Well, she had it last week and seems to be doing very well. The prognosis is good that she should have a near normal life as long as we keep her in check. She goes back in three months for follow up scans/tests.
They shaved most of her neck as that is where they went in. They also shaved parts of her legs for intravenous tubes, electrodes and who knows what all. They even shaved the underside of her tail. But that will all grow back. For now she's almost back to her old self with only a few days of meds left to take.
The photo shows her the other night just before we took off the wrapping.

No cone of shame? Not even a neck pillow of shame? Vet medicine has advanced in the past four years, I guess.

So almost a month later, Haru almost steps on this in another woodchip planter on the property:

Back of the couch, arm of the chair, it's all good. My old dog Jelly used to love watching the world go by outside the window. I ended up turning the chair around to face the window since she was the only one using it. She still preferred to use the arm instead of the seat.
