They work for reasonable speeds. On track, the car will still buffet at speed.

For the record, 911's also buffet.

Is there a way to disable the kickdown switch on the Supra when driving in manual mode?

I really hated that about the older BMWs (E90s). This was fixed in the F30 and G20 and the Z4 has the same logic as the G20. So I was really surprised to hear from tuners that the Supra would kick down in manual mode while trying to do their dynos.

80mph is only 7500rpms, 1500 shy of the 9000rpm redline.

logs show 60-100mph at 4.081s This is with one casual shift at 7800.
for reference, 60mph in 5th in the supra is about 3100rpm. 80 is ~4000.

I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying it spools too early and chokes up top?

If that's the case, I agree; they wanted to make a car with the widest powerband possible. The 2020 Supra's engine, real world, has full boost at 1400rpm without lugging the engine. My M3, lugging, would barely have full boost at 2400 rpm.

The supra's torque tapers very early....

You should check out the 2021 variant with the 6 port head and dropped compression!

I'd be more interested in a S58 head swap for the extra fueling overhead....

Possible... is a bit of a stretch, as it would need a LOT of work.

That's 15k spent, when only 5k is on the turbo. is the additional 10 really worth it even if you only want 250-300 whp?

Do you want 250-300whp, or do you want reliable 250-300whp?

Most people go the route of the former, and then wonder why they have problem or talk about "the curse" when things go wrong.

Any reason why you recommend the above S/C in alphabetical order? Definitely different setups just curious why?
