He's had a supercharged S2000 and majority of his videos, starting with 11 yrs ago, are centered around gasoline engines. Not even close to an "ev shill" lmao.

Considering a small percentage of his videos are on EV’s that’s a pretty baseless claim. Though we are used to those from you. I am just going to post this again.

Once you are done there, you should look up what are sodium and sulfur mines.

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/s...gh-190333.html

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium

Quote:
Sodium is the sixth most abundant element in the Earth's crust and exists in numerous minerals such as feldspars, sodalite, and halite (NaCl). Many salts of sodium are highly water-soluble: sodium ions have been leached by the action of water from the Earth's minerals over eons, and thus sodium and chlorine are the most common dissolved elements by weight in the oceans.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfur

Quote:
Sulfur is the tenth most abundant element by mass in the universe and the fifth most on Earth.

Chevy released the Blazer EV last evening including an SS version. Nice looking vehicle, priced at $45K to $66K (SS version).

i'll agree rivian, tesla, and lucid motors(distant) all exist.

all the rest, they're no better than elio motors. they exist on paper.

I don't know... it seems like petroleum prices go up and down, but average out over time, yet electricity seems a little more stable. It is probably the better long term bet if someone wanted to avoid market changes in energy prices.

I'm not confident in Lucid, smells like Fisker to me, but at least they have the vehicle performance to back it up.

Looking at their Q2 report they need to start turning a profit in ~3 years, that SUV can't come quick enough because there are not enough sales in the luxury car market to support them.

Tesla has built a brand and Rivian has Ford backing, they'll be around for at least this decade but I wouldn't be shocked if they fold and the major automakers swallow them up.

lucid has at least brought some vehicles to market, which is one of the hardest parts. lots of shells of companies talking about bringing something to market, but few do.

so for now they do exist on the most basic level of creating a product and bringing it to market. elio can't say the same. whether lucid can maintain and stay profitable, that's an entirely different debate!

If it ever comes to that, we can probably expect rolling blackouts - different grids will be allowed to charge during different time windows to avoid overloading. Heck, we might go full circle and bring back the horse buggies.

Left alone to the markets, people will figure out the right balance between various power sources - petroleum, coal, nuclear, wind, solar, tidal, etc. It's only when private-jet-flying doomsday-mongering criminals stick their nose in that this balance gets screwed up. And We The Peasants get the shaft in the end.

That's not really true. The market drives for efficiency but neglects external costs. Read on the tragedy of the commons as a good example of why the market sometimes needs intervention.

So, are you saying the "Peasants" are going to be the ones out building power plants? Seems unlikely.
