Is this wheel-to-wheel racing? Any specific licenses involved? Or is it more like Solo; show up with a helmet and closed-toe shoes and drive?

It's closer to solo, but is on a track with other cars. We generally run a FTD (Fastest Time of the Day) or TT (time trial) format.

This weekend, 86CUP itself was FTD, but 86CUP vs S2kChallenge was determined with a TT that was open to the top driver of every class.

I'll post the results later, but the 86 prevailed this time, with a 2-1 score.

What is the long term prognosis for this particular set of rules?

□ 0.00 - Any street tire: TW 140-200 **Exceptions apply
□ 2.00 - Bridgestone Potenza RE71R, BFG Rival-S
□ 1.00 - Level 1 R-compound tire (100TW)
□ 2.00 - Level 2 R-compound tire (60-80TW)

Is 86 Cup going to continue to create exception rulings 140-200 street tires like it did with the 71R/Rival S? or is this just a short term thing to level the playing field in the first year these tires were introduced?

Or is 86 Cup going to follow the SCCA AutoX model where all 200+ TW street tires are treated equally and you probably should do you homework before your next purchase? Basically, choose to get under the right umbrella before you get rained on...

We now have more data on how RE71R and Rival-S perform, and it's likely they will still incur extra points in 2016 (currently +2.0, but this might change)

Besides the obvious grip advantage, we've confirmed that RE71R and Rival S wear much faster than other tires in the category, on and off the track. If we didn't penalize these tires and everyone used them, it would become more expensive to run a full season, specially for drivers with a single set of wheels/tires.
