i think you need a bolt extractor kit now.
the last option is to try covering the bolt with some paper, and then trying the 7mm. the paper stands a chance to fill the rest of gap to make up the difference.

Good design means considering vulnerability to technique, especially in places where service is anticipated.
I haven't mangled mine but that doesn't make them a good choice.

Invest in a set of torx sockets and screws fellas. They are common on most luxury cars. There is no need to hate on them. Torx is a superior fastener. Harbor Freight is your friend. These come off easy with the right tool. Buy a lithium ion cordless impact driver wrench while you are at it.
