No plans for a non-carbon option currently. We actually don't have any fiberglass offerings, we feel that carbon is worth the price and don't want to offer a lesser product.

. You are correct, this is not indicative of how the wing is held up but it *is* what we can do right now without the mounts and it took 150lbs without breaking a sweat. Also great use of the newly purchased lifts

Hey Eric,

This is fantastic work, been waiting for a company to do this in the U.S.

My ask is that since many (or even most) 86's are DDs/Weekend Warriors usage type cars a weekday swan neck mount/riser that is a shorter length would be a great (in addition to your above taller design). This way a person could conceivably buy two sets of mounts. Shorter for DD and taller for track days.

An example is this what I am assuming is a mostly cosmetic swan neck mounted trunk spoiler by Kuhl Racing in Japan. It uses very short mounts/risers to be functional for DD. Another recent board user, Drambeenie, prototyped and eventually mfg'd taller mounts for the factory 2017 Wing for cosmetic purposes. It's a great length for DD. I would love to have two sets in different lengths for this Verus GT Wing if it's not too much trouble to create a shorter set than you've currently designed. If it is then that's understandable. Can't be everything to everyone. Examples below...

May I ask why you want to taller and shorter mounts? Is it a looks concern or a drag concern?

Mostly looks. For me, something like the Racecar height of a GT Wing is only appropriate for the track. "Sportscar height" is a-ok though for daily driving. My business life requires a degree of restraint as sometimes I have to arrive or even drive business contacts in my FR-S.

Drag, not really sure, because I have no idea of those properties on your new wing. I'd imagine taking the occasional SoCal to Vegas 4 hour trip might cost a little more gas and wind noise, but those considerations are secondary and even tertiary to looking like I'm spoiling for a race with the next person to drive by in something fast.

So like @johan said "Porque no los dos?" If you guys can do two heights of mount, I'd be totally on board. Thanks for listening!

We'll look into another more sleek mount (very big if here) but right now we just want to finish what we have designed. We have it spaced off the rear trunk the least amount necessary to ensure adequate airflow under the wing.

Testing on the rear wing (off car) continues. This is 210 lbs being strung up by some safety wire by the actual machined (billet) wing mounts. I added another 100 lbs of my own body weight but did not grab a picture of that. Trying to figure out how to "borrow" another few plates from a local gym

.

We are still waiting for some other pieces to get it on the car for testing. We continue to move forward though and are pretty excited that the mounting style can handle 300 lbs currently.

Some updates...

Everything is being manufactured currently besides the uprights. We have people with mixed opinions on which design they like better. Option A is our current design that Eric and I like. Option B is what everybody else seems to like. The top plane of the upright in Option B is parallel to the ground while Option A is angled down around 12 degrees. What are all your thoughts?

Also, we haven't released any performance data on the wing yet until now. This will be considered our low drag high-efficiency wing. We have a maxiumum efficiency or also known as L/D of 11.5. This was possible by developing this wing directly in CFD using optimization studies.
