I don't think it's going to give you rock crawler capabilities, regardless...

5 second press definitely does not turn it off, pedal dance does IIRC since it shuts off EBFD.

Off topic-Yesterday i fully turned off the trc/esp.
And had a u turn on a wet surface and this light came on
how come?
As i know atm theres 3 options -vsc sport ,trc off with "abit of esp off" ,fully off on long press @the esp button.
So if it is completely turned off it wont turn that light on -or else this light isnt what im thinking it is .

Because, like @wparsons reminds us, the pedal dance is still the only way to fully cut that bullshit.

But the long press gets you pretty damn close.

No, the buttons do not turn it all off 100%. Pedal dance turns it all off except for ABS.

The source of all pedal dance knowledge:

ok read about it -interesting one .
now maybe the drifts will be much more smoothy and predictable .
still its funny cuz when i drift usually the light i posted before doesnt show up (only at that time i mentioned it did )plus i could spin 180degrees easy with that 'fully off' (talking about long press for trc/esp off not the dance pedal lol)
I think the long press on the button is pretty much fully and the light comes on at specific/extreme circumstances(like i had the other day).

Nope. Disagree. Try driving rally style, in snow, or in intermittent hydroplane. In all of those situations, VSC intervenes causing the vehicle to behave unnaturally. I find this interference extremely frustrating. Even the throttle curve in stop-go traffic is for shit.

danielmailrs: TRC short press off - TRC off .. but only upto relatively slow speed (too lazy to check it in manual, as i never used this mode), reaching which one gets all nannies back. Supposedly to ease some starts on icy/snowy pavement.

Next is VSC sport (or "Track" in kouki). TRC off, but VSC/EBD/ediff/ABS nannies still work, but now some slip angle allowed prior they engage. A bit less in zenki, a bit wider in kouki (and supposedly engages in less abrupt fashion in kouki). I suggest to use this on public roads. Allows some fun but will correct worse mistakes.

Next is long 5sec TRC off press, that switches off TRC, VSC, but EBD/e-diff/ABS is on. Close to "no nannies", but not exactly there. Simple to switch to this mode, so sometimes lazy alternative to next one.

Next is "pedal dance", engageable with certain brake/handbrake press "combo" after starting car with warmed up engine within some time frame. Leaves from nannies working only basic ABS. EBD & e-diff is off. Imho the mode to use on track/drifting and such.

Last is pulling ABS fuse. No nannies working, as ediff/vsc/trc nannies depend on data from wheel speed sensors & abs module too. Hmm. Possible application might be gravel/snow loose-surface rally? :/

Great explanation.thx
Any real reason to take the abs off too?
Looks like the most unbothering nanny of all lol.

And as for that e diff 'electronic diff? How is this one being a nanny?

I find the long press mode to actually be quite predictable in the snow. Ediff and ebfd can be very handy when on patchy surfaces with very different friction coefficients.

If you are actually drifting and hit the brakes, ABS can engage because you are sliding (on purpose) and cause bad things. I remember reading a couple of threads on here about that. So I'll refer you back to Google.

It's not. It's just doing something cars couldn't do before computers.

I've never had VSC intervene after a long press of the TC button, I've had the car sliding in different kinds of conditions.

Nor have I.
I have had horrible ice mode with pedal dance though. I'll have to try it again since I've had to get a new car, and I've also tweaked my driving/braking approach.
