might be able to jam it into the defrost vent at the base of the windshield. they do sell a mount to go above the rear view mirror for a few different scenario's. there's mounting clip-tabs on the sides like they had a game plan for a clip-in/clip-out mounting solution that never really came to fruition. would be really easy to print something in nylon to take advantage of those mounting points.

i've had one for going on 10 years. on my 3rd currently (1 was installed in a custom dash piece for my eclipse that i later sold after the car, 1 was lost moving and re-found, and 1 is installed in the brz) . actually just had to contact them-- i dropped mine messing around and cracked the display. they sent out a replacement display, and display replacement instructions within the same week for free (and i fully admitted to doing something bone-headed with a unit that was at least 7 years old to cause the damage)

great people to deal with.

Haha oh lord, you guys and your gauge placements :P.

I was honestly okay with the idea of doing an a-pillar setup despite not being a douchebag (that I know of!) since it's also a JDM thing .

But over the past few weeks I decided I didn't like most of the pod configurations.

a-pillar juts out too much into FOV, the steering wheel mount blocks the OEM cluster (I guess the side with the analog speedometer is useless anyway though but I like keeping it clear), the cluster hood mount also starts to block FOV a bit, etc.

That's why I went with that AC vent gauge, and then also ordered one of those block8head defroster vent single pod mounts because I'd seen Ultramaroon recommend/+1 them in a few threads.

Of course now I'm hearing it could take two months to get mine .

How do setup what values it displays?

It’s already configured actually. Just from plug and play I can see oil temp, coolant temp, AFR, revs, voltage, intake temp (I think but haven’t confirmed).

There are also two analog input wires that can be connected to additional sensors I believe.

I think you can also reconfigure values for stuff like the meter on top, since it shows the number and some kind of meter maybe as like a way to quickly glance and see if there’s too much of whatever the value.

Then there’s also some timer type things for 0-60 and other measurements.

Oh is there like a button you push to toggle between them?

Yep two buttons. There’s a peak function so you can see your highest value for a metric as well, it remembers the metric you were looking at last time the car was on, even has a basic dimmer so that at night you can dim the display (there’s actually a wire you can use to make it work automatically but I’m not good with splicing).

You should have seen me trying to find a place to put my AIM Solo. I'm a little OCD when it comes to things like that. If it doesn't feel right it bugs me.

Yeah, totally. I try to be pretty minimal if I can. Even just routing the vent gauge cables was tough, and not completely finished yet since I need to add an OBD splitter because my dashcam is powered by that as well

Looks like the most recently updated post about one from July says sold now. but it was for a two-gauge pod, and I only need a single gauge pod.

It's ok, I think I can be patient.

I won't be able to do canyon drives for a while now because all my favorite roads are on fire . So no hard driving for me, which was mostly what the gauges are for haha.

Reason #234 to move East. Our roads aren't on fire.

And 93 octane. That's reason #12.

But good luck reclaiming your driving roads!

Hey we do have decently available E85 stations here! Too bad I'm no longer tuned for it, though.

Yeahhh, I'm so bummed. I was way more interested in watching my temps in summer because when I drive in the winter my roads are usually 45 or lower in the mornings so I'm not nearly as worried about oil temps.

That's no fun. I too am missing out on driving. Moved from fun, super low traffic, if not well paved, roads everywhere to a place with literally 3 roads just in time for all the autocross to be cancelled. Also, it's hot and humid as balls here...

I should just give in and be a boat person instead of a car person...
