Shift 50rpm before limiter. Shift at the last possible moment to still not hit limiter/fuel cut but rev as high as possible.

I specified mechanical torque to the wheel.
Not torque or hp on a dyno graph.

Mechanical torque is calculated after all gear ratio, wheel size etc… are factored in.

You want to shift gears at the RPM when the current gear you are in has LESS mechanical torque at the wheel than the next gear will have at the RPM it will land in after shifting.

On most cars the mechanical torque to the wheel is always higher in the numerically lower gear all the way to rev limiter. You’d need to make like 400ft lbs at 5k and 200ft lbs at 6,500rpm to benefit from short shifting. A 20-30% drop in torque is more than made up for by torque multiplication through numerically higher gearing.
Thank you! I’m learning, bit-by-bit. Thank you for the help and patience. I need to get over my fear of revving it out. I went FI to have fun and let this car live! Saving for a IAG short block now haha

Has anyone here measured an OEM header, exhaust setup on a mustang dyno ? Curious to know if these numbers are on the lower side...
I'm not nearly concerned about the absolute number but just a little concerned if there is potentially a problem... Never had the time to do a baseline without the kit on the car...

Mustang dynos are known to read lower than most others

buddy why dont you at least decat it and raise boost with a smaller pulley to take advantage of the reduced compression?
You have at least a potential 350HP at the crank to be reached with your good quality 93 octane fuel, it s a shame to let the car be so underpowered

Not saying you have to max it out and risk the engine, but you could easily have more ignition timings with some minor work

Ha! Ikr... Have a baby boy due in 7 weeks so I wanted a factor of safety of 2 on basically every parameter This build has been a nightmare but that's a story for another time but yes that is something I would want to do in the future..

2014 FRS MT
- HKS GT2 supercharger kit
- 93 octane
- ecutek tune
- everything else on the car is 100% stock. Stock exhaust. Stock intake box. No idea what clutch is in it, I assume it was replaced at some point in the cars life but it holds ok so far.
