No real updates on when this kit will return for anyone wondering.

I contacted them about a week ago basically saying they were my first option but I’ve been waiting over a year and whether it’s worth holding out for them if it’s to return within the next few months or go with something else and the response I got was basically still they have no updates on when the kit will return OR the price…

Them mentioning price was interesting as I never mentioned that in my email, hopefully if there is a price increase it won’t be too significant as the kit was already fairly expensive even to local Aus buyers.

Wonder how it’ll compare to the Edelbrock as I believe Harrops kit with no tune was 8.7K AUD before it was removed, and Edelbrock with no tune currently is about 9.4K- 10.5K AUD (if you can even find someone with it in stock)

I finally found a supercharger kit for my car, second hand. Got pretty lucky as it was removed by Harrop. I reached out to them and they offered support even though I was not their client then. Great company.

Car got its last tune yesterday (85mm pulley, E85 only). Now patiently waiting for the first track day of 2023

She seems to be quite thirsty now, so I'll see you soon at the E85 pump at the Gabba Grumpy Snapper...

If anyone in here is looking, I have a used kit off of my car that was rebuilt by Harrop and never reinstalled. I am planning on posting it in the classifieds next week.

Hello all - from Melbourne, Australia!

I thought you guys may find this interesting, regarding the Harrop Supercharger.
I was curious myself for future purchases and asked if they have an update on
this as there are quite a few people interested on the status. They responded with
the message below :

Rest assured, we definitely will be bringing back the FA20 supercharger kit.
The current hold is related to a revision for the new FA24 kit.

To confirm, we plan to have the supercharger kit re-release for previous FA20
and new FA24 in the coming months with pricing TBC.

So, we just need to be patient it seems Still no release date yet except for it
being re-released "in the coming months." Minor recent update, thought I'd share.

Hey all,

Recently acquired a Harrop SC that was never installed. I have a 16 FRS and it was my understanding that the kit was selected for a 17+, so the front of my OE 2016 Airbox would not fit and I need a 2017+ front airbox, NBD.

Id rather acquire new gaskets for the manifold and throttle body, but because of the +17 airbox I'm questioning part # selection. Can anyone help me a bit? Don't know if the Harrop SC was based on 13-16 or if they revised it at all to accommodate 17+

Manifold Gaskets

13-16: 14035AA610
17+: 14035AA720

Throttle Body Gaskets:

13-16: 16175AA420
17+: 16175AA520

And while we're at it. Any other gaskets that should be looked at. I'd rather not swap over gaskets from existing system. I like new

Thanks

To follow up, encountering an issue.

Kit I purchased was 2017+, and naturally when I initially fit my 2016 front side of the airbox it did not fit.

Thinking the design of the new 2017+ manual airboxes were indeed drastically different (considering part# revision) I ordered one of those.

I'm still not getting anywhere close to the spring clip or bottom mold detents of where this thing should be lining up. So of course I tried to fit the 2016 Box.

It "fits" but the bottom molds are definitely stressed to fit into the "female" portion on the lower intake filter box. With some massaging the male/female can mate so to speak but they're slightly angled. Everything can bolt up and seal but just want to make sure this is normal and/or I need a different box? (honestly not sure what other one even exists).

See the pictures to hopefully describe what I mean.

That is a little strange.
Mine, and other Harrops I've seen from different years all seem to fit pretty easily.
I guess the obvious first question is, is the filter the correct version and is it "seated" correctly?

Filter is oriented correctly and seated. Regardless of that, however, the bottom plastic tabs require some bending/strain to get them to fit.

Non-strain, the plastic tabs do not line up properly. Which hopefully I showed in the pictures where one tab is lined up the other does not correctly align

Same issue here on a 2015. I just bent them in a bit to make it all piece together. I'm wondering if the OEM AUS spec. air boxes are slightly different than the NA spec. cars.

One other thing I will address while I'm here:
Several pages back, someone decided to further explain some of the issues that they ran into concerning the differences they found when attempting the install themselves versus what is officially explained in the installation manual for an AUS spec (right-hand drive) car, and mentioned that the tool supplied to bend the A/C line was not needed due to the difference where the A/C lines enter the firewall.

I am here to say that this is not true. The tool needs to be used on left-hand drive models as well. If you don't bend the line just slightly, the rubber section of the A/C suction hose will chaffe against that little "tit" sticking out on the driver's side of the blower manifold, which will eventually chaffe a hole in your A/C hose, as well as rub the powder coating off of the manifold at the point of contact.

Since this line is so close to the clutch cylinder, failing to do this before setting the supercharger in place will make it nearly impossible to get any tools in there to bend it, which I am currently having to deal with.

You'll see in the picture above that the A/C hose is touching the "tit" that I am speaking of. I currently have a piece of scrap PVC hose cut to wrap around my A/C line at that spot temporarily to keep from damaging the A/C hose, but again, as I said, this will not protect the manifold powder coating. If I zip tie it away from the manifold to the strut brace when it is reinstalled, it will look amateurish at best.

It only needs to be bent between 5 and 10 degrees, but it DOES need to be done after you remove the OEM intake manifold and when you have plenty of working room.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

Thats pretty warm, what intake do you have on it (pre filter)?
Were you out at Willowbank, and do you know what the actual temps were on the track?
