Speaking of trucks. Ram dropped the 1500 Revolution EV concept yesterday. Violates my "no instrument cluster, no thanks" rule, but it does have some interesting features like passthrough from the front trunk and fully configurable seats, including 3rd row jump seats.

Concepts tend to be edgy, but with that said, they seem to be testing the market for bold, new designs with these EV trucks. Maybe the interest in something as radical as the Cybertruck has manufacturers considering other designs. Trucks do so well, I don’t think they will abandon more traditional designs. I bet we will see traditional designs for EV trucks too, especially as all vehicles move to EVs. The Lightening is fairly conventional.

That's because to get to market first, Ford took an F150 and stuck an electric drive-train in it. So far, of the ones I've seen, I lean towards the Silverado, even though it still has that "space truck" look to it, probably because it is mainly a toned-down Hummer meets Avalanche.

I have a reservation for Silverado, but given the one I want (the WT version not the $110K RST) won't be available in the near future who knows if I'll follow through with it.

The biggest thing GM has going for it for me is they have steered away from the "iPad look" and are staying with a more conventional cockpit.

the new rambox really interests me, the passthrough frunk is confusing given the bulky center console design

Looks like Tesla just dropped it's pricing significantly across the board, as much as $13,000 or more on some models.

I've quit giving Tesla drivers the bird whenever I see them.
It used to drive them nuts, but now everyone is doing it.

I saw this. I don't know that Tesla thinks to slow or ramp production based on on demand. At the BMW factory, as orders come in from customers, whether that is from a dealer or from an individual or from where in the world for the South Carolina plant, they process the orders in the order they arrive, so it isn't like they produce all white 3-series and then do a bunch of black X5s. On the other hand, Tesla seems to just make cars and then try to sell them, so once their lots are full then prices drop, and I think part of this strategy is just to keep the cogs in the wheel spinning, so everyone upstream from them who supplies them with parts sees a steady demand, and their gigafactory keeps moving to pump out batteries. That is just my take.

Yea, just for grins I went to their site and there were dozens of vehicles available for delivery within 200 miles of me so looks like they are having an inventory reduction sale. Of course this is more a price correction than a decrease, given how they have raised prices over the last two years.

Interesting if not 100% accurate. Seems heavily tilted towards Tesla, with things like Tesla having "higher quality components" and while talking about how much Tesla makes per car, it fails to mention that the main reason for the difference is the lack of a dealer network so Tesla gets all profit from the end sale, Toyota only gets wholesale profit.

Toyota also sells a gajillion different types of cars worldwide while Tesla has like...3 different cars. And Tesla's are priced absurdly high for what it is, so theres a ton more profit margin in each car.
