Clips straight from my build thread. Video doesn't even justify how monstrous it sounds. I had a buddy pull through first and second and as he passed by me, I cringed.

Borla and Magnaflow have a nice rumble and are not too pricey. If you want loud sound without the obnoxious drone, corsa exhaust is a good choice though you need a big budget.

For a true budget-friendly exhaust, the Gruppe-S UEL (~$500) sounds like it is great quality and many members in the forum are running it. Slap that on there and add the Berk muffler delete (~300) , I'm sure you will have the sound you are looking for at a pretty low price compared to how much it could be if you wanted to mod the entire exhaust.

Dezod Catback. If you want deep, low rumble sound but loud enough to catch peoples attention, and if you want to fill out those cutoff holes in the back

What area? Do you know any good shops that will do a tune after a cat delete and new pipes? |

In my opinion, you should plan out exactly what you want from your exhaust from the get go. One of the most common things I see on the forums and facebook groups are people swapping out catbacks or headers or front pipes because they're too loud or too raspy with what they ended up installing. If you plan ahead and do a butt ton of research, you can find a full set up that you know will suit your needs.
For instance, my overall plan is to have a deeper more rumble-y sound while not significantly increasing volume... so my ideal setup is: Perrin 2.5 Resonated Catback Berk HFC Front Pipe (Ordered yesterday! ) Catted UEL Header (Leaning either towards FT86SF headers or JDL) Motiv Over Pipe This should net me a more sporty/subaru boxer tone while still being quiet enough to have a conversation in the car. Also, I understand that you're on a budget, but modding your car is a slippery slope. While getting good value is always important, never forget "buy nice or buy twice". So if you're serious about adding any sort of mods to your car, be prepared to expand your budget a little bit... or figure out how to live off of ramen.

As has been discussed before, catless headers + most aftermarket catbacks = super loud. Plan accordingly.

I've heard the nameless muffled track pipe sounds really good, if you keep everything else stock. I ordered a tanabe medalion concept g yesterday, and while it sounds super nice on a stock car, I couldn't find any examples with a catless el header, so I decided to roll the dice and find out how loud it gets.

If you think you're gonna get headers start from the headers and then move your way back. Don't pull a me and start from the muffler forward only to realize that if I wanted UELs in the future it'd be too loud.

Exhaust is so personal, a lot of trial and error for what sound you want. for more power header and a tuner. next would be over pipe and then down pipe. The catback isn't a restriction

I'm in the Bay Area and always go to VL motorsports in Livermore. They did all the work on my last car (91 Miata). They have a Dyno and Richard is an ace at tuning.
