Had some time... aka bored & had some cf vinyl, so wrapped my wife’s WRX bottom part of steering wheel. I needed vinyl glue to wrap some corner, so just testing out to see if it was able wrap it without taking off the steering wheel. Answer is yes.

Wasn’t sure where to put this post. It’s long and very random... still related to 86/BRZ related, so just posting it here.
I was thinking what parts aftermarket can make for the twin. Amazingly, twin have seen almost everything from first yr. Some are cool parts, some are wtf parts. Cool part to it is, most of the parts are still producing. Of course, some small brands/shops have closed or stop making, but there’s always other brands that made the replacement parts. With that said, I don’t like parts that’s not really functional. So looking back on some google images. 1 part that I do not see remade. Which is this: If you’re wondering what that is, that’s a trunk brace by Spancer Fab. Why? Twin chassis is pretty great... but the rear flex a lot when you put grippy tires and under G’s. Kouki (>’17) model fixed this issue, thanks to Tada-san listening to several race geeks. But couldn’t fix it 100%. To certain degree, it’s better than Zenki (<‘17) chassis... but not good enough for some owner who autox or track. To resolve this, there are few brands that make trunk braces, like GT Spec GT Spec brace work... but not as much as it need to like Beatrush. Beatrush make one that’s connected to rear struts Ideally, you want a brace like this... Having these brace vs not having it is a huge difference in time. But problem is you loose the trunk space (except GT Spec). If you’re using the twin for race only then Beatrush or Reve braces would be fine, but if you race and daily your twin then it become problem. Cool part about Spencer Lab brace was, it even work w rear seats are in (so he claim in this thread: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...94&postcount=4) Now, I was thinking of getting rear seat delete from Shrader If someone made one that work w it, it’ll be nice... or even making mix style would be even cooler. Like this pic! Just my random thought that I wish I knew how to weld &/or know a friend at custom fan shop that can make one. |

I have the Shrader rear seat delete. I think it looks like it belongs. I would love to have that brace you have in the first pick to keep anything in the trunk from coming thru the seat delete in a emergency stop. The rear portion of the delete is just snapped in with plastic snaps. One time a guy cut in front of me and I had to slam in the brakes and a case of sparkling wine came flying into the back of my seat from the trunk. Luckily it didn't do any real damage.

I think, a lot of owner would be interested in the trunk brace. If they want, they could have 2 types of trunk brace.
First one can be Spencer Fab style design & have it like this Type 2 can be for racer, that have a brace that goes down to struts, so it reduces flex. So mix top pic & this That should win for both race car owner & daily owner w Type-1 & Type-2 braces. But that’s just an idea. |

Mines always the large fountain drink in the loose cup holders. Houston we have liftoff. Oddly enough, I just had this happen again after a brodorzer got pissed I went around him during his tire cleaning burnout after mudding. I've never had anything go through my shader rear seat delete though.

The case was a great sparkling wine, carbonated in the bottle. They use extra thick bottles to carbonate in the bottle. A case is heavy. The bottom of the rear panel of the delete just popped up as it slid forward. It happened in the Santa Cruz hills. |

I've got some pictures on my phone somewhere. I intended to put up a DIY of my rear seat delete, but never got around to it. Just need to figure out how to resize them to post... Last edited by Spuds; 04-20-2020 at 12:58 AM. |

It was from a winery in Half Moon Bay. Mrs. Ho and I were coming home from a picnic, and were on Skyline near the Mountain House when this guy going the other way cuts right in front of me to turn into a residence.
Besides, you use ceramic jugs with corks for transporting homemade adult beverages, and they are SUPER heavy! |
