Beginner STX Build Whiteout FRS Build Thread

Hi, I just started getting into autocross and im hooked! , was very confused on what to build my frs into and I think an autocross car would be perfect for it.
here's what the car looked like when I first Got it

Blox Racing 490 Shift knob, lovng the weighted shift knob

next was the eibach lowering springs, loved the drop but the more I autocross the more I want to get some true coilovers, hopefully getting a feal 441 soon for the car

245/40 kumho ecsta 4x

I went with the all season ultra high performance tires as of now, since i do have heavy snow here at Purdue University I want some tires that'l let me drive all year long. I will however get some summer tires after winter ends for next years season. and save these tires for the upcoming winter.

got some enkei rpf1 in limited edition matte bronze color 17x9 +35

installed some SPC camber bolts since the rear waas at -2.5 camber after the drop while front stayed at -0.3 camber, the camber bolts should being tthe front to around -2 camber now

Got the painted red taillights from a fellow forum member, looks perfect imo should have came this way from factory.

oh and I am also a new member here! go easy on me.

I know that driver skill is 75% of autocross, but what mods do you guys think I should go next? was thinking of a strano front swaybar, then feal 441 coilovers then some BFG Rivals.
Hope to get some real good advice from the more experienced drivers here in the forum

Autocross is great fun. You should check the rules to see where you car is in classing with your current mods:

since I do have lowering springs, wider wheels and tires, ive been running in stx lately, and have been getting beaten pretty hard in that class but i do plan to stay in that class, and I have seen my times slowly getting closer to the usual guys in my class in my last two autocross's. so hopefully I can get around 4 more events before the season ends this year to improve even more.

It's good to hear you're enjoying autox. It sounds like you're going down the right path. Have you looked at some of the STX build threads here?

Welcome to the party!
My advice would be to sort out all your suspension and get tires, after that worry about power and weight reduction. Alignment is very important on these cars. Since I didn't have rear camber arms I used ride height to set rear camber and adjusted the front height accordingly. Good luck, there are plenty of people here willing to help. Also, do some reading around on tires. The RS3's and Z2's are also good tires depending on surface and temperatures.

thanks!, you guys are like those autox people, im always amazed how they're so friendly and always be willing to help out a newbie, cant say the same about the track day people ive been to.

still debating about tires, still a long way till I get them, and there is so much new realeases this year that Hopefully reviews come out by next season, or till some people in my local scca get some and have things to say about it. the new generation of autox tires are so confusing for me (Z2, RIVAL, RE-11A.etc)

Berk Single Tip Muffler Delete came today!, bought it off a fellow forum member

The hangers were the worst part of taking off the stock muffler!.
I drove it up a ramp to get easier access to the muffler.

Review:
I am 100% happy with this purchase, it saved 23 lbs of weight off the back of the car and it sounds amazing. It is a little too loud for my taste at cold start but after that it is very bearable. In terms of drone, there is drone at lower rpm (2000-3000) but after that there is no drone, so at highway speeds at 75mph there is no drone. The look of the car was what I worried about a but when you look at the car it looks really nice, the single exit doesnt bother me as much as i thought it would and the larger tip is a vast improvement from stock.

Welcome to the Club! Enjoy your stay

What region of Indiana are you in? I highly suggest making it out to Grissom AFB in Peru, IN if you have not been there before, they put on some great events. I am hoping I will make it to atleast one of the Divisional events there next season.

Nice build!

Seat time seat time seat time! Best gains come from experience.

And a good alignment.
