HKS stroker kit build going onto edelbrock SCd e85 FRS - build questions
Just purchased the HKS stroker kit and cams for my car, I’m already running an edelbrock supercharger and on e85 with larger injectors and fuel pump. Car dyno’d At 303 to the wheels, looking to break 400whp. The forged stroker kit and lower CR should let me reliably run the smallest pulley on the e-force supercharger, but what else will I need besides the stroker kit when building the motor to handle 400+ with high revs? So far, my thoughts are:
Bearings Race valves (what are the differences between 29* and 10* and what is +1 oversized?) Dual titanium springs, locators, retainers Bigger head studs HKS 1.00 head gaskets Was thinking of going with an Outfront closed deck block, am I missing anything that I would need here? |

Just an FYI but we had a HKS forged engine go pop at much lower than those power levels here in the UK (Sprintex 335 on 98 RON). It was proved and accepted by HKS as a manufacturing fault. I'm also sure I've heard of one other similar issue. I personally wouldn't touch HKS forged parts for the FA20.

Be aware, the smaller you go on the supercharger pulley the less engine rpm you can run with the e-force. You have to measure your crank pulley and supercharger pulley to work out supercharger rpm. Please call Edelbrock to double check my figures but I believe they told me 17,000 rpm is max for the e-force supercharger.
I also run the e-force supercharger on e-85. Mine dynoed at 323. I also am looking at up grades as I have a blown head gasket so my motor will have to come out. I will be using ARP head bolts, and was recommended to use the stock Toyota/Subaru head gaskets by a very well known FA-20 engine builder. |
