The SB clutch includes clutch disk, pressure plate and alignment tool.
I had my stock flywheel re-surfaced as my OEM clutch was fine when replaced. The shop said the Toyotas advice to always use a new flywheel is just profit making nonsence.

I'm starting to swap my clutch right now as well. Attempted it with the supercharger left on but have come to the conclusion it's not worth it and I'll just be pulling the charger.

Now that I've settled on pulling the charger any tips on any maintenance I should perform while getting it off? Only thing that comes to mind is the intake manifold gasket/maybe the belt. Dumb question but does the edelbrock unit leverage the stock intake manifold gasket or is it a bespoke edelbrock part?

OEM intake manifold gaskets are employed. Your current ones MAY be fine to re-use. If you don’t have the updated bypass valve now is the time to switch.

Has anyone run a smaller SC pulley on a stock engine using 91-94 octane gas ?

To gain some additional power I'm occasionally running 98 octane Sunoco 260GTX, Trick 100 from the 76 station in Auburn Wa. or 102 octane Fury SL99 mixed down to 98 with a 3rd fuel MAP from CSG Zach. ( I love the smell of race fuel in the morning ). But that gets expensive fast and, for road trips, requires transporting the fuel in the trunk.
I was considering E85 but availability is scarce in BC and I'd still have to transport it on trips.

I know... there's probably not an easier/softer (less expensive) way.

My #2 piston broke on-track while running the stock pulley and short block on 94.
I have a 3” pulley and 700cc injectors on the bench ready to add now that my new forged short-block is broken-in. Zack will re-tune come that time.
IMO, I wouldn’t risk the smaller pulley on the weak OEM block. You’d just be begging for trouble.

I've got to agree with Muskoka, the stock block isn't worth running on a smaller pulley unless you've got money for a second built bottom end. The FA20 doesn't handle detonation very well. My original block blew due to a bad Delicious Tuning product while sitting on cruise control at 75 mph. Also, the stock block with it's high compression ratio wouldn't give you much gain without a big increase in problems. E85 and exhaust modifications are your best bet for more power before a full build.

The intake manifold gaskets are OEM parts. I installed new ones with the S/C however the original ones removed were perfectly identical to the new. They are a silicone o-ring type. Not expensive so worth having on hand just in case.

Thanks to BT and Muskoka800 for your input, you've confirmed my suspicions.
I guess it's time to save for a built block.

I agree that Zach is "the man" for tunes.

When re & reing the SC, in my mind the cost of installing new intake manifold gaskets is a small price to pay versus using the old ones and the possibility of leaks.

And if the SC is off for some reason it's an opportune time to pull the Direct Injectors and have them cleaned/flow tested.

My supercharger has had an issue where the internal bypass butterfly valve will float under operation and get stuck in there causing no boost to build. It's worth taking a look while it's off and seeing if there's any play in the rod between the vacuum actuator and butterfly.

Is E85 available to you? That would actually be the easiest way.

maybe you can try some booster like Bardhal BSF?
it s no where near e85 of course but they add some octane
we have no e85 in italy ,when we use those concentrated octane booster we get nice gains on boosted cars even when added to 100Ron fuel (around your 92-93 oct)

things with toluene, MMT and other expensive dangerous stuff tend to also spoil spark plugs and colour everything of orange inside the engine but work quite nice for octane booster purpouse and it s just carrying around a half litre bottle instead of barrels in ur trunk
and no increased fuel consumption compared to e85 but of course no cooling advantage
Need to be tuned though or engine just gets lazy, it seems they slow flame speed a bit

I've tried Octane Booster, but can't believe the deposits it leaves on spark plugs/O2 sensors and Cats benefits the long term performance of the engine. Have replaced plugs/O2 sensors and won't use those products again.
CSG Mike has previously commented on these products and their shortcomings

Until I can obtain a reasonable supply of E85 and buy a good quality Flexfuel kit, I'll stick with name brand higher octane race fuel for those "special runs"
