I had a similar problem for about a week, where I couldn't get the 3rd gear pull done, as we got hit by a snowstorm. Tried doing it after the snow melted and the car fishtailed as I hit 60mph...Little pucker moment there.

Neal told me you were behind the tuning, so thank you, Zach. Hopefully, the last log I sent you looks good and we are done. Loving the car now.

I waited to post this, but I think I can now...

The Delicious Tune completely resolved my fluctuating idle issue with the Edelbrock CARB tune, which was incredibly annoying. The car is stock, except for the S/C, so no other components to cloud the issue. The slight bog down during acceleration is still there...but I mean 'slight' and may just be a characteristic of the S/C.

I am always dreaming of the next mod, but I think I love this car now.

OK guys,

I've been lurking the owners thread for a while now, and here is my question.

Is the MAF sensor fluctuation problem caused by the placement of the sensor, or it there an issue with the sensor itself? for the most part i am super happy with my Edelbrock, but there is an occasional idle hunt.

I know that they make the D box to help with the problem, but I am considering pulling the Edelbrock air box, and using the box and filter that came with my AEM cold air. (i would need to make a new intake tube, I realize.)

Any thoughts?

Not exactly sure if its the placement or the sensor causing the problems. Either way, it seems like that might be the culprit since others that went with a DT tune (which uses speed density) have noticed improvements. I personally never felt it on the CARB tune. Did your kit come with the air flow "straightener"? Kinda looks like one of these:

My kit was one of the first sets and Edelbrock contacted me after seeing one of my logs I've posted here. They noticed "something funky" and sent me one for free. Installed it, sent them a log and never heard back, so I'm not sure if that fixed it or not.

Finally decided to pull the trigger on e85. Looking into clutches now. From what I've seen most are running. ACT or Southbend. Any suggestions ?

I also looked into the OS Giken, pricey but I've heard nothing but praise for everyone who's had it.

I'm running one on the PCV side (pics on this page: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=43402&page=5)

Mine did not come with a straightener, but my MAF housing had those 'fins' in it; it was not an empty tube. Was your MAF housing a bare tube?

I thought it was the MAP that was the issue, not MAF. If so, the airbox will make little difference. The D-Box works on the MAP.

Ya, mine was an empty tube to begin with. They just sent me a plastic fin piece and instructions on how to glue it on.

I thought there was already a check valve on there?
