That being said, at the last enduro, a human in prime fitness shape managed to do the entire 3 hours himself, with no breaks except one yellow flag where he sipped a little water while sitting in the kart for 30 seconds... and he won. Fucking alien.
Even though I'd probably die from exhaustion, this sounds so much fun!

Karting is a whole different experience. I tried to use techniques I learned in auto-x and some of them doesnt carry over at all.. especially late braking lol

Holy crap. Back to back 20 min sessions are a lot. That is crazy

Late braking, heh, you mean just bounce off the car on the outside and keep going?

No... Just bitter given the circumstances revolving it. Had a scathingly sarcastic post up earlier, but decided to delete it.

Anyways, life has been decent without the forum. Just popped in every now and then to stay somewhat current. Christmas was great, spent most of it with the gf and her family. New years was sweet, being that I was in Mexico. Getting home wasn't bad as I had a stack of packages come in from stuff I had ordered previously (head unit, arm rest, pouches for in between the center console and the seats). Since then, just been living like an unemployed bum, but collecting a normal salary.

Et tu?

Been trying to find an easy, plug and play solution for new door speakers that won't break the bank. Budget is $150 for the speakers, then whatever it costs for the harness, mounting kit, etc.

Any of you dudes know audio and can explain the upgrade to me like I'm 10? I'm pretty fine with how the OEM speakers are performing with my new head unit, but a little extra oomph would be nice too.

Holidays were super relaxing. Low key this year. This Pineapple Express weather system has been crazy. Brought the Portland Metro to its knees for over a week. It's all melting now. Snow and ice are replaced by flooding and landslides.

It's nice coming home but it's nicer coming home to new toys.

The OEM door speakers and amp run at 2 ohms. Most aftermarket speakers run at 4 ohms. This means that when you replace the OEM speakers with aftermarket speakers the amp will only be producing half of its power.

Options:
1. Live with OEM.
2. Install better speakers; live with half power.
3. Install better speakers; replace door amp with Alpine KTP-445U or similar amp. While you're at it, get another KTP-445U for the dash and rear speakers.
4. Install a sub and amp.
5. Pick options 3 & 4 for the whole package. Also dynamat the doors, floor, and ceiling.

Cheers.

I've been scouring the audio section, but I haven't seen anything that's super low hassle. I'd love to avoid having to route a bunch of wiring through the car because a huge pain in the butt.

Are there any speakers that you know of that are 2 ohms?

And that amp is already nearly $100 over my preferred budget for audio.
