Anyway, why is there almost no torque dip vs our cars? I see the vtak hitting at 6k and dying at 8ish, but why do our cars dip at 3-4k's?
That looks spot on for the 2.2L S2000 (F22C / AP2). Here's another F22C dyno for comparison:

If you think these have low torque, the 2.0L version was even lower:

Note a lot of that was mitigated through short gearing (torque multiplication to the wheels) made possible by the 9000 RPM redline.

With regard to the FA20, don't think of it as a mid-range dip, but as having low-end torque.

On Topic:

Does Poutine have a torque dip ?

And if so, at what rpm ?

And does it dip in French or English ?

The only time you will notice the torque dip is if you are short shifting up a hill (or before you reach one) or trying to overtake people while in a gear at under ~3. 5k rpm

Just don't try to accelerate up Hill at 2k rpm, shift down or you will feel the torque dip and actually lose fuel efficiency....

Ohhhh suuuuure give the Canadian base model and the U.S. Ultra Special Super Deluxe Release Series Bacon model and say it is better.
With better tire the Canadian version would kick it's butt on the track.

If the torque would be low between 2k-3,5k rpm, there would be no dip, just a 'v-tech' effect at 4500rpm. But the FA20 actually has really good torque low down for a NA 2.0L. For daily driving, it's quite 'zippy' down there, giving the impression of a bigger engine, that is why you can feel the dip at 4k where it temporarily turns to a 1.6L engine but soon enough picks up again...

Also any of those poutine dishes look good to me!

You guys may not be so quick to defend the placement of the dip without driving an 86 with a good header and tune. The overall driving experience is much better.

I always found the dip to be right in the worse spot on the street. The torque would die off and not pick up again until I was exceeding the speed limit by too much when driving on twisty roads.

While those other dynos show cars with less torque down low, they have wider power bands. I find the stock powerband to be way too narrow.

I added headers, front pipe, overpipe, an exhaust, and a tune. This "removed" the torque dip, but I still find the car to be slow

If I floor it from 2nd gear at 25-30, I don't even find myself accelerating really fast. It just feels slow to me, no torque at all. And this is with 35whp and 17whp added. I guess I really need to add a turbo or supercharger..

If you don't have enough torque, you're in the wrong gear!
