OH believe me it is environmental. And it isn't just the cars but the whole manufacturing process right down to mining the raw materials.

you misunderstand the winds behind their changes.

if gold-encrusted bibles on wheels became the next hottest thing they could sell for $90k/ea with a $60k profit, they'd all become more religious than the pope.

between the encroaching governmental requirements, as well as changing stakeholder demands, ice simply aren't in vogue anymore.

so if all the mfg's desire to keep making wheeled vehicles, and considering it's their actual business, i'm sure they want to,(with the exception of the software company, tesla), they have no choice but to alter course and chase what best complies with governmental regulations second, and investor desires first. and investors are clamoring for new, and change.
