No need to, those pictures makes it clear that beige/tan is a bad idea for a sports car. Every one of those would be repainted if I got hold of them.
The FR-s and 911 are the only two that are reasonably decent looking and that's because the big black rims make any car better looking. Both those are also temporary, the Porsche is plastidipped and the FR-s vinyl wrapped for when they get sick of the blah. |

I could be mistaken, but wasn't there a TRD GT86 sold in Europe? That's basically the RS1.0 without the fancy color and limited number plate.

Look back to a Sport Compact Car issue with one of these Celica's in yellow on the cover. Custom rims (everything back then was custom) with yellow accents. Plush custom interior. Searching for cover pic now....Correction cover car was a yellow Corolla with flip up headlights. Somewhere in those late issues had a yellow celica with that old school fabric black roof the low rider crowd still does lol Anyone around 39-40yrs old remember these cars in those mags? I did find back issues for sale for $8.95. lol

I knew this thread was going to devolve to a "my opinion is the only one that counts" word-fest. I guess that's both the strength and weakness of an internet forum.

Some dealers opt to put some or all of it on a car and sell it as a "TRD GT86". This is not limited in any way. I can go buy one. Not going to because the TRD stuff is heavily overpriced. |

I'm not going to import an RS1 or a hyper blue BRZ from the states. It would be easy enough to arrange, but the total cost at my end (purchase, freight, customs, fees and taxes) would be frightening before the car was in my garage with Norwegian plates. But it's a nice daydream. Don't tell my 86, though. I've told her we'll be together forever. Getting a TRD bodykit and exhaust, and spray my car with some high quality (not OEM) paint matched to that yellow is an option, of course. Last edited by Sarlacc; 10-27-2015 at 06:22 AM. |

It depends on what country you're talking about. Here in the UK, there was a limited edition TRD model released in 2013. It seems like the markup at the time was similar to that of the RS1 in the US, too. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/toyota/...yota-gt-86-trd AFAIK, we have never had the opportunity to buy those parts individually through our dealers, and they're definitely not on the current UK options list - so if you see a TRD-looking car over here, you can be almost certain that it's the TRD model. We also got a special-edition model called the "Giallo", although that was just painted yellow and had special seats - it didn't have the TRD kit. There's also a guy on one of the UK forums who re-sprayed his car in a nice shade of Renault yellow, IIRC it was after a trackday mishap. |

I've been wanting a crosstrek in this color. Glad they stopped that yellow nonsense.
