Few days ago i got all the electrical bits i wanted to install alongside (add navi, backup camera, fix one of strips of window de-icer, OE sharkfin antenna, door mirrors auto folding module .. and of course wheelhaus's 3rd brake light) and finally got it in. In simple words - love it.
Liking light bar's even light looks, not of some small light element cluster like in other cheaper kits, even more so - how much now can be seen through rear window, when "alien spaceship" is gone . This new light also is unexpectedly stealthy .. initially i expected it to rob some window area from top, but it almost cannot be seen at all . There is small caveat that window de-icer lines go below it, hence some slight visibility issues until whole window is cleared up from ice/snow, but same issue would be for any other brake kit at top, Mustang's, DIY, Intec. Had some weird moment when after installing everything handbrake warning indicator was always on @dash, but culprit was found & fixed (wiring for rear camera that was installed at same time). In general - highly advisable mod well worth it's reasonable price that not only enhances looks, but also safety, buy enhancing lacking stock rear visibility. |

Hmm, disliking a bit how long it takes to clear window of ice outside and condensed (+frozen) wet from inside glass behind brake light. Hour of driving is not enough for clear window there, but driving more then that rarely happens daily.
wheelhaus: have you considered some warming/thawing option addition to this? Maybe even not direct heating of window in stock rear window defroster form, but some generic heat source to be mounted in brakelight hausing (lol, maybe even some incadescent bulb, as LEDs generate very little heat), that is connected somewhere into stock defroster's wires to be switched on when defroster is. Imho it may result in some fine optional extra product for those in colder weather countries (seeing it as whatever chosen extra for heat + needed stuff to remount module, like eg. spare tape), that might be also selectable option on initial brakelight order .. P.S. Have you experimented, how water vapours clean up from inside car or not in properly heated up car if there are some bigger openings in brake module? |

Plain holes would let light spotlight into the cabin. A heating element would increase costs, and it would need to be a very very low heat output. Maybe some ventilation holes and an opaque filter material like a black cloth on the flat surface that faces the headliner might work without altering the overall appearance but still let air circulate. There's a small gap against the headliner in the 1/4" (4-5mm) area under the light bar where it might work. |

Technically no, but I can make more. I manufacture them personally in my off-time and was doing group buys to balance fabrication costs and vendor fees, which is prohibitively difficult to maintain for a solo operation like myself. If there is sufficient interest I may be convinced to do another batch. Send me a PM if you’d like more information.
Also, photobucket sucks. I will eventually migrate photos to imgur. FYI for anyone interested, this project is not abandoned or shut down, just not being actively promoted and sold as I am not currently a site vendor. 🙂 |
