Ya Dave didn't have the deployed airbags in the list yet when I asked the question and you can't see them in the pics. That was what confused me as to why what appeared to be a lightly damaged car was written off. Would never have even questioned it if I had known the airbags had been deployed. Wasn't me that speculated about flood damage though.

Luckily just one airbag. The passenger one isn't deployed (thankfully as replacing the dash is quite a bit more time).

If I'm lucky I'll be able to put in a nice explosive Takata bag!

Don't know if we make the replacements for the Twins or I could have got you a good deal on a ZF one. Pretty sure the Takata scandal was a huge profit machine for us.

Yes Dave! Glad to see you back in a BRZ. Your old BRZ has treated me well over the years. Tracking it and driving it hard the way it should be driven!

Garage
Helped with a little disassembly today to get a parts list together.

This should be a quick repair as soon as I clear some garage space to get cutting and welding!

Also determined that:
-Windshield washer bottle is fine, just the top piece disconnected from the bottom, Subaru designed it to separate instead of breaking in wrecks I guess.
-Coolant overflow also appears OK.
-On the negative side the airbag plugs were badly melted, so fixing that will be another $39.

Coilovers are Tein Flex Z's, they'll be for sale soon.

A bunch of Subaru OEM parts get ordered tomorrow (bumper cover, radiator supports, etc).

Pics up soon, Dave-RoR brought it over this morning. Got it 80% completed, complete core support replaced, headlights, radiator and condenser replaced. Just needs fluids tomorrow and the bumper and hood installed.

Just need the new bumper cover and hood painted, as well as some SRS bits and she'll be good as new.

By far the easiest and fastest rebuild I've helped with so far!

Helped Dave-RoR with the state rebuilt title paperwork and I figure by next weekend we'll finish it out.

This coming off the Impreza clutch and partial rebuild I just finished and got outta my garage Friday night!

Mmmm Hopslam.. enjoying a nice 12oz version now

Not including beer.... repairs cost $2,248.49 so far. There are a few more pieces needed for the bumper and a couple other misc items so probably about $2,350 in repairs. All body parts except for the hood and t bracket are new OEM. Radiator is a Koyorad, AC condenser is off Amazon. Drivers airbag off ebay, drivers headlight off ebay, passenger headlight I plastic welded back together. SRS module, both seatbelts and clockspring repairs are being done by myairbags.com.

Pretty sad that this was total loss really.
