Hoosier R7.

T1 is a 4th gear corner with 4.3 R&P.

At my power level, a built motor from them should last forever.

Going to try and prove an FA20 can somewhat compete with all the motor swaps with uber-flat power curves, so need all the torque I can get. That is until K-miata comes out with a turn-key K24 swap kit. lol.
You are hitting our car's bee's knees. Any reason for 4.3 swap vs a shorter gear? Also what short(er) ratio 6th gear you are considering?

Those 2 mods are certain for the winter upgrade for me.

Cheers,

Lutfy

It's a lot cheaper and easier to simply buy a whole used 4.3 rear end. No need to re-gear IMO, except 6th.

6th will now be .861 (same as TMG racing in Germany). Jack's transmissions sells the gear set for VERY reasonable cost from a high quality gear maker.

New adjustable strut flanges for Xida prototypes just arrived. More camber (a lot more) plus a set of A052's. Just in time for Sonoma this weekend. If weather stays good, we might be able to drop our 86 Drive Challenge Touring class lap record, without camber plates.

If any of you will be at Sonoma Sept 28-29 with Speed Ventures, drop by our garage. Winged, orange Miata and silver 86.

Here in NASA Mid-A as well as nationwide as @Pat mentioned, Time Trials is pass anywhere without a point-by. I always try not to hold anybody who is faster than me, but sometimes you are in your fastest lap and giving a point-by could be the difference between winning or loosing. Sometimes being behind a car like that is also beneficial because of drafting.
Drivers also have the option to create a gap by slowing down, pitting in themselves or take a spot in the back of the grid before the race.

The truth could be more than a one and a half lap edited video.

Some fast guys out for GLTC today. Check out the times from Justin Kelly with his f20c swapped FR-S and @prandelia with his NA FR-S that just crushed the previous record by 3 seconds.

The car can easily dip into the 40's with some fresh tires (those were 10+ HC) and a little more setup. I think my car on a whole was too stiff (shock settings) for Gingerman, but there is so little time and margin for error in GLTC, I was too afraid to try anything and have it backfire on me, so ran the car as it was.

I hadn't been there in ~10 years either, so a little more seat time and I could clean it up further. That said, still pretty pleased with how this little FA20 is holding up against some pretty stout competition. Need to find another 5hp at my weight, and should be more competitive against the top 5.
