urg...now your reminding me of how subaru sells their impreza, and how there are literally a million different variants.

Looking for an Impreza? Heres a L, LX, GL, RS. You want a performance model you say? Hey heres a WRX now in L, GL, and RS. Wow your a demanding one..more power? ok ok how about a WRX STi..but wait..you could have the WRX STi A or WRX STi A Type S. Perhaps your more into the WRX STi C...oh no your a racer you say? maybe a WRX STi C RA. Whats that? you want more performance from your stripped down racer? Heres a WRX STi C RA-R. Thanks for shopping, while your done check out the WRX STi S206 and the WRX STi ts.

Can you imagine going to the dealer, putting all the trims side by side for 1 model year in 2000/2001 for the impreza in japan. You'd be choosing between nearly almost 15 different trims of the same chassis. Can you say headache?

If anything id like to see a BRZ RS added the the current package line up.

My guess on the STI price is ~$5000-6000 increase across the entire lines. Please also make both M/T and A/T!

No performance car should ever come in A/T. A dual clutch trans on the other hand would be awesome!

Yes and this is what I am talking about! DCT instead of A/T should be perfect!

BTW I thought ~30% of the BRZ sold come with A/T? Which is a fairly large % for car like BRZ.

Here's a mention of it in one article. That comment isn't directly sourced, however...

As well as more power, the BRZ STI is set to weigh even less than the 1,250kg standard car, thanks to racing bucket seats and potentially a carbonfibre roof and bonnet, which will further help to lower the car's centre of gravity. Other tweaks will include a dramatic bodykit, stiffened and lowered suspension, lighter but larger 18-inch alloy wheels and upgraded brakes.
I thought I read elsewhere (months ago) another article that specified a weight difference. Of course it either had no source, was a guess, or an unofficial leak, etc. I thought it said something like 100kg less, which was damn optimistic. Not that it wouldn't make me happy.

OT... I have to disagree. The dual clutch transmissions are nothing like an automatic transmission with a torque converter. The rev-matched blips on the downshifts are awesome! The only downside is that some dual clutch applications don't like it when there is a small overlap between throttle & braking (when you are left foot braking).

If it shifts itself, it's automatic.

I don't like playing with words, but as far as DRIVING goes without going technical, driving with a Dual clutch gearbox is alot more like driving an auto than a clutch/shifter combo.

Exactly, I don't get the argument that because it has a clutch that is automatically operated that it's a manual transmission. You press a button, it shifts for you. No different than the ones with the torque converters do (except faster and with less power loss). Not saying that Dual Clutch transmissions are terrible or anything, they're just not manuals
