Dash Speakers quiet with new HU

Howdy! I just installed a Sony XAV-AX5000 Android auto unit into my 2013 Fr-s. I used a PAC RP4.2 TY11 kit so that I didn't have to hack up the oem connectors.

Upon turning everything on and playing some music I noticed it was much more bass heavy than before. Seems like the dash speakers are too quiet because if I crank up the volume they don't get very loud while the door speakers do. If a turn the low frequencies all the way down in the equalizer and turn up the high frequencies it does sound close to normal. However this seems like putting a bucket under a leak rather than patching the hole.

Not sure what could be happening here. I've seen lots of posts about the door speakers not working (mostly bc of people not wiring the amp remote turn on wire) but nothing of problems like this. Anyone have any ideas before I rip the car apart over the weekend to figure it out?

did you check your high pass/low pass, and stock eq settings? some units default to a setup that is anything but flat/neutral.

SOLVED! Short story: I'm dumb. I rechecked all my connections and I had plugged the speaker connector that goes to the RP4.2 TY11 into the amplified audio out when it should've been the un-amplified audio out. Swapped it around and everything sounds great now!
