Would you say the spending ~$1,500 justified?
I'm running a Tomei UEL right now, and I'm having a hard time throwing down for the header/overpipe combo until I'm some place I can get it tuned.

If you already have good header imho it's much harder to justify purchase of another header. Relative gains imho won't be that big to justify another expensive header full price.
Of course i would choose Ace's from currently available ones for initial purchases. But to upgrade existing aftermarket one? :/
But then again maybe you'll be lucky with selling your current header for good price. Tomei is also good header, maybe selling it will net some money back.

Virtually every Ace header customer is upgrading from another aftermarket header. In fact, I think it's 100% of the customers, for the Type A. Quite frankly, this is the wrong header for penny pinchers; if you want the best of the best, then this is the header for you.

I love the Tomei, and I've seen the potential that they have, but I also want to change over to an equal length setup for the sound. Selling my current header will recoup some of the cost so it won't be so bad up front, but it's a lot to fork out at the moment and I may just have to put it off for another year or so.

UEL vs EL. Totally different. Are you building a racecar where every HP matters? Or are you willing to sacrifice some top end for the characteristic subie rumble?

There is no "torque dip" with the Ace header. You get the best of both.

You still get the same HP boost from jdl uel header. The only thing im giving up really is just the "uel rumble" compare to Ace EL header. Compare to jdl it has a lifetime warranty. Ace and jdl makes good headers I'm caught in between.

Except the sound. I'm not building a racecar, and the rumble makes me happy, so I went UEL. If I was more serious about trackdaybro, I'd totally look into this Ace 421.

I like the rumble but right now I have oem header, I'm now thinking either Jdl uel or Ace EL. Do you need to get special tuning if you get Ace or it will be just fine with OFT?

Do you still get the rumble with Ace EL?
