Push button Connector
Does anyone know the type of connector used for the push button start. I’m thinking about relocating the push button, and rather than cutting and extending the wires, I’d love to just make an extension harness.

I'm really curious as to why? And I'm guess you wanna relocate it to the capped ignition starter?

I want to put it on the center console where people usually put those custom plaques. Was inspired by Jive Turkey:
Check out his full thread here: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41877 I’m not planning on wrapping the consul like he did, but I will probably make a custom piece that fits in the rectangular recess to also hold the button. I think that location looks cool, and it also allows you to run the non-pushbutton cubby for a little extra storage space. |

talk to a couple junkyards with an 86 push-start in inventory. most of them would likely happily sell you the cut off connector for a few bucks.
i usually start searching for something like that via ebay, and then message the sellers with used brz/fr-s parts.

yes I considered that, but I need both sides of the connector to make an extension harness. So the easiest thing would be to just know what type of connector it is so I could get one of both

for $20, i'd make an extension out of hacking up another button.

I’d have to pull mine to get the connector measurements to validate/verify which is right but this is probably a good start.
