The black paint is doing a lot of lifting to hide the ugly black plastic wheel arch covers and clunky rear faux diffuser section. But .i agree, those angles don’t look bad, and oh, isn’t it nice not to see black wheels! Yay for bright rims!

We live in a crazy world where Hyundai sets car styling trends...

Well designed black plastic fenders make sense practically, but they only look passable on black cars. If that comes stateside it will be a hard pass for the wife.

With the way many big names are designing their cars, yeah I'll take Hyundai to lead the way. Everything else looks like the same rectangular blob of boringness. The WRX, Civic SI, and shit the new Integra all look like the same damn car.

Technically the X gen Civic Type R already looked like a WRX, lol.

The newer designs from Hyundai are starting to look a little wierd....

And Kia is just a copycat of other manufacturers....
Because of Peter Shryer jumping ship from Audi to Kia....they gained a ton of Audi/german influence but its getting alot more copycat than when he first came on board i think.

speaking of copycats...im noticing the new EV cars are starting to look alot like cut/paste jobs of each other (mainly fascias)......
even less variation than the ICE cars looking the same with similar design cues.

Kinda don't mind. IIRC he contributed to the Stinger design, and I really like seeing those every time I come across one. It is what it is, even if it means some cars share (a lot of) characteristics.
