Just a thought, I would prefer a Hydrogen fueled car over an EV for the convenience of refueling. Zero emissions too.

Wonder why the world isn't going that way or will Hydrogen fuel be the next stage after the car companies have made their money from EV's?

hydrogen has a lot of issues. higher pressures, and nothing actually can contain it, so the entire systems have hard expiration dates 10 years from date of manufacture. great for buying new cars, horrible for anyone that buys used, also really hard on the stations to get stuff replaced on that time table.

the delivery/distribution/manufacture processes aren't all that different from standard fuel or propane systems currently in effect. but the pressures are significantly increased, which most view as a major negative.

but i think the real killer is that we can't even trust people to refuel into approved containers. and now we want to trust the general public with a high pressure variation that requires specialized docking connectors just to refuel?

Engineers will mitigate the risks, bring back station attendants or robots to refuel if it is too hard for the public to do.

In regards to people, well they are people and people make mistakes..

TBH though, my personal issue with hydrogen is that there's really only 2 ways to make it. either 'burning' natural gas(fossil fuel), or by 'burning' water.

and last i checked, we haven't found a way to make more water. there was a time where we all thought that fossil fuels were incredibly plentiful, and had no drawbacks...

That ^
Green hydrogen production is still very energy intensive so if you are making green H you aren't able to spend the electricity on something else. This website suggests a negative Energy Return on Energy Invested (EROEI) for hydrogen.

I can't figure out who would pay $50k.
I might stretch to $38k, ignoring the fact I would not want an SUV in the first place.

Yes that thought crossed my mind with green hydrogen made from renewables and sea water, how long will the sea water last?

I take no pleasure in having to point out a huge, massive, giant flaw but here goes...

Water comes from burning hydrogen.

You do realize that burning hydrogen as a fuel creates water right?
