And stock seats look and feel like they're designed for widebodies only. I got back in my S2000 and never looked at another one...

Unfortunately the C6 was the last Corvette where they gave a damn about weight. C7 went from ~3300 to 3440 up to pushing 3600 lb., new C8 is 3600+ minimum. Lame...
Agreed on the interiors improving over the C5/C6, although everything from then sucked. Have you seen a Porsche interior from then?

There are different alternatives to soft-touch surfaces that are hard, but most people who don't like hard-touch surfaces don't like the thin, loud, hollow/cheap-feeling, reflective-plastic surfaces that seem to warp and crack over time and hold heat that much more than soft-touch surfaces.

JFC don't get me started on the horrific monochromatic Porsche interiors! JEEEZUS those are the WORST! If you wanted an even remotely interesting exterior color, you also got a completely intolerable interior color smeared *ALL OVER* the entire interior of the car! Fuggin GROSS!

So you putt around folded up trying to control your right wrist/foot. And you still have to feed the machinery a steady diet of expensive maintenance.

What I’d like to do is find a seniors’ carting series. Or better still, a freakishly tall seniors’ carting series. I think that would be a hoot and a holler. @humfrz, you up for that?
Karting would be nice, although can be expensive itself, at least for my current budget.

Yeah its a bit less about soft vs hard plastics, and more like 'thin brittle hard plastics that feel like a peanut butter jar lid" vs "hard solid plastic that feels like an expensive monitor bezel"

Even soft plastics can feel cheap....all those Toyotas made in the 2013-2017 generation....the soft plastics in those interior feels like they just got stuck on the surface with glue and can be peeled off easily.

Im not sure what i feel about the C8 interior its too quirky...especially with that endless strip of hvac controls......i think I actually like the C7 interior better. I think i still like the C7 better than the C8 overall still.

Everything before was typical GM garbage quality and parts bin to hell.

I prefer the C7 widebody over the C8.

I like the MKIV Supra-like C7 interior, and overall, I would like the C8 Z06 engine in a C7 widebody too.

I didn’t think the C8 Z06 needed its own thread either, but it was newer, so I necro’d the newest one. Probably could have gone in the C8 thread more than the Z06 thread because the engine is the same with just the addition of the hybrid system. Considering a ZR1 will likely have the Z06’s engine plus this hybrid system, this will act as an official thread for this trim and a rumor thread for the ZR1.

Sometimes we get rumor threads, official threads, special edition threads, different trim threads like do we need a thread on the 992/s/cabriolet, 992 targa, 992 turbo, GT3/RS, GT2/RS or Mustang Ecoboost, GT, Boss, GT350, GT500 or A90 Supra and A91 Supra, or the newest iteration of the GTR? Seems excessive and like there would be crosstalk, so might as well put them together.

That's fair. Also I wonder how much hate this car will get? It's basically the NSX just 5 years later, lol.

Good point. More weight and complexity without better performance compared to the R8 or 911 ultimately doomed the NSX.

In this case, I think this will be better received. The whole industry is going this way, so I think people may have warmed to EVs and hybrids. The holy trinity of hybrid hypercars came out after the NSX. Tesla changed the boring image of electric powertrains. Toyota came out with the Hybrid Rav4 and made it the fastest trim.

The big difference with this car is it’s just a trim. People can still choose the base C8 or the Z06, unlike the lack of powertrain options with the NSX. This trim offers instant torque, AWD traction, better mpgs, probably better reliability than a tuned C8, and better 0-60 and quarter than any Corvette produced by GM, despite the 200 extra pounds. Someone can get the traditional V8 rumble of the C8 and avoid a high-strung engine of the Z06 that might be too much for their sensibilities, but still get more performance with the AWD and electric setup. I think this will either pull in the older client wanting traction for safety and better mpgs for their Sunday cruiser, or it will get the hard core tuner; imagine slapping a supercharger on this engine on top of the hybrid powertrain. That is like the previous Z06 plus the hybrid power, so 800+hp considering the outgoing Z06 had 650hp/650tq before tuning.
