That I agree with! It's incredibly fun!

I've been doing that every winter with every RWD car I've ever owned, and I've never accomplished such grace and control with any of the others.
I feel like Nancy Kerrigan out there! (With more beard, bigger cojones and a few extra pounds. But almost as cute.)

This is some onboard video from uhhh driving home from the movie theater after watching Star Wars with my brother the other week. Bridgestone Blizzaks are pretty good too.

(sorry I've just had WRC videos going in the background a lot lately)

And our roads are more Monte Carlo rally then Sweden when the weather gets bad anyway. Icy/snowy/shit with some dry asphalt to throw you off once in a while.

@JazzleSAURUS if you drive like that, then chassis dynamics obviously is rather important :-)

I love driving my car in the snow. That said, we're getting 10-15 inches tomorrow, so I'll be taking the Jeep to work..

The OP has been driving in Cleveland, Ohio for 19 years in a wide variety of cars and SUVs. For those unfamiliar, we have among the harshest winters in the US. We can't beat Wisconsin, Minnesota or upper New England, but I've done a lot of driving in ice, deep snow and everything in between. This is the first set of real snow tires I've ever had and with them the car went from being scary dangerous to perhaps the most capable vehicle ive ever driven in the snow. It spins a bit sometimes but it always moves and the cornering and stopping are borderline unbelievable. The turn in and lack of understeer are almost spooky good.

I've got the R2s.

Would an all wheel drive car with more weight and with the same tires be even better? Probably. But at my experience level with these tires no weather prevents me from getting wherever I want whenever I want.
