If they ever get thermo-electric generators cheap enough to use in automotive applications these could be a viable replacement for turbos. Almost a third of the fuels energy is blown out the exhaust in the form of gas flow at high temperature.

This setup could be very cool.

I have also been talking with them about this, but since your already going ahead this would be interesting to see.

There really meant for low and mid end as the PSI fades off on the top end.

heres a thread link with good info on the third page

Looks sweet, message Toma on beyond.ca and he'll probably hook you up with some free dyno time in Calgary for shits and giggles.

Here's a dyno Toma did on one of these on a 08 Golf. Everyone was really skeptical until it actually made power. Then everyone was all wtf it actually works???
Here's the thread if anyone is interested:

The largest unit from Phantom is capable up to 250 bhp I think. Another unit that might be interesting to see applied on this car is T. Knights ESC solution on boosthead.com... Personally would like to see the triple respun starters he uses mated to the Sprintex/Innovate unit instead of the Eaton...
Yeah I remember the Thomas Knight setup...

very cool. if the boost was configurable, it would be awesome to have a F1-style KERS button on the wheel... more HP on-demand vs less HP all the way through the RPM range.

I hate to say I think you will find that the fa20, evn stock, is moving too much air for this thing to keep up. It made 5psi tapering to 2psi on a Pontiac sunfire engine. The fa20 moves a whole lot more air NA than a sunfire engine.

Problem is the more boost you put into the system the more stress there is on Everything. More psi means more cost and the parts don't last as long. This is meant for a modest boost for very modest cost.

That one was on the small compressor that can only supply air up to 180hp. At that point the engine is too efficient of a pump to get gain.

I am going to be using the larger compressor that can flow air up to 250hp so I should be fine:-)

I can't wait to see the results and you all will be the first ones to know once complete.

I pointed this out in another thread, but it's important not to get the wrong idea about this kit. It is not intended to compete with full time FI systems. Think of it as a NOS shot you don't have to worry about refilling and you'll have a good idea of what it is intended to do.
