My last track video

One of the last of the year sadly... a video with my Corolla XRS on the track with my new Dunlop Direzza D1 Star Spec ( Crazy tires ! )

Hope you will enjoy and comments are welcome.

( Next year track video with an FR-S would be cool ... :P )

Three questions:
1. You lock your screen door?

2. What's done to the XRS?

3. You have a track that has open lapping every Wednesday? Wow. Finally something Canada has that I'm jealous of.

Nice videos.

Nice videos.

1. - HAHA I admit on the video it really look like a screen door, but it's a normal one haha.

2. - Basic mod's, Short ram/cat back + some godies to help the engine ( Dyno: 170whp 124 ft/lb ) + stiffer coil, rear swaybar and front strutbar + the sticky tires.

3. Yeah, in the summer it's open every wednesday. It skip a week when it's raining outside ! Plus it's like at 15min of my home so if shit happen I'm not so far ! This winter they will try to make winter lapping ! If your more drag style, every friday the strip is open too in the summer.

Really cool track, not perfect but still having a track close of your home is damn cool. This is why our car club have some many video of lapping event, we are going on the track all the time :P

I'll do in the next week a full feature of my car in my blog with all my last mods.

Thanks for the comments !

Yeah you don't need that much to have fun on the track, a lot of people don't understand that...

My first lapping car was a sedan 1996 Corolla and this was CRAZY. Everyone was like " what engine did you swap " when it was bone stock with good tire and stiffer springs...

Great tire change it ALL. With my XRS i was clocking 1"06'70 with my old tires ( Kumho KU-31 )

And with my Direzza D1 Star Spec I'm down to 1"05"20 !!

The same driver, the same car. But I admit that I have like 1000% more confiance with these tire so I'm pushing a little bit more.

What track/facility is that? How much does a night of lapping cost you?

That's a nice improvement...after some more laps on those tires you'd probably find another second or two.

I'm in a position where people regularly ask me what first mod they should do to their car in order to improve handling or to improve braking or to improve acceleration...and my answer is always: Stickier tires. Some of you are saying, "Duh, of course." But keep in mind that these people are asking me because they want to buy performance parts from me. I do not sell tires.

To a point, but I'd never suggest R Comps and such to novice drivers. R comps cover mistakes that a novice needs to learn from.

No...sorry...didn't mean R-comps...I just mean stickier than the crap the manufacturer got from the lowest bidder. Something like Star Specs, R1Rs, RE11, RS3s...etc.

It's called Sanair Raceway http://www.sanairracing.net/

It have a Road track section, in that section there is the 1/4 miles and a mini oval and the full raceway. The other side of the road it have a Tri-Oval raceway. It even have a motocross track with jump and everything and an R/C track !

It cost a big 60$ CAN from 5 PM to 8h30 9h00 PM

Yeah a lot of people are that way... The funniest guy are the one with big car. We usually see some guys with S/C Mustangs, Porsche 911 and they drive like MORON. They are faster, because of the long straight line but that it's. In a curve they are everywhere exept where they should be.

My favorite overtake was with a old ( like 197X ? ) 911 Turbo. I was faster everywhere even in the straight line. So I can say: My Corolla have passed a 911 turbo haha

we have plenty of tracks like this around here in Quebec (Canada), near Quebec city, we have Sainte-Croix Riverside Speedway, on every thursday it's lapping time and it's 10$/ 10 minutes session

Project STH, it's good to get news from you, didn't get any since you sold your AE86
