The scarcity of important info about this car only 8 months away from production/release is disappointing.

We don't even know when or if it will hit production.

I think folks are underestimating the impact of a better torque curve, revised gearing and decent tires. you could make a big impact to acceleration with only some modest tweaks to the drive train give the weight of the car. And for the bench racers, your 0-60 will materially improve needing only two shifts to 60. As for the platform, why completely reengineer something that works?

Yeah I think cars like the Camaro are always on the “chopping block”. If they don’t sell enough for X number of years, they are killed. I don’t follow their sales numbers so I’m not sure. It’s a shame if they kill it because it’s the best it’s ever been, especially the performance versions. I’ve had this feeling for a while that some of these awesome performance/muscle cars we’ve seen are really a swan song for ICE powered cars. I mean the Mustang GT350 and 500, the Camaro ZL1, the Corvette Z06 and ZR1, even the Dodge Demon and Hellcat. They are freakin unbelievable cars for the money. Unprecedented performance and character. It’s like Ford, Chevy, and Dodge said “let’s send these cars out with a bang”. And maybe resurrect them as electric vehicles. I wish the 370Z got more love, even though it’s due for an overhaul. I think it’s awesome you can buy a car like that brand new. It’s always been more of a GT car, and it has so many things going for it. But everyone is afraid of saying that it’s still a great car. I hope Nissan can create a new Z that still retains some character of the prior versions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Back in the 80's and before families had zero issues having 1 car that only had 2 doors. We just live in a different world. Mustang, Camaro, Supra, Z, etc were family cars. And even the cars that did have 4 doors were so much lighter and smaller. A 1989 Mazda 626 turbo weighed something like 1900 pounds. |

Then why didn’t we at least get the larger oil pump like the DIT in the WRX? Can’t even swap the DIT timing cover over. Sensor locations are not the same.

The next-gen is turning out to be a great looking car! Can't wait to trade in my 2018 GT for the next installment, only have about 15K miles hopefully I will get some value back when trading it in!
