Well that and I work too much. And I have too many hobbies.

I like Milwaukee's tool line and their batteries are really good. The only others I have a lot of experience with are Dewalt since that is what we use at work. Do not like the Dewalt tools. We have about a dozen Dewalt impacts, maybe 6 drills, and 6 3/8 drive impacts.

Ingersoll Rand? IDK about gold standard, but I really like my air-powered one.

im probably just going to stick with milwaukee, never had an issue with my dads, why go searching for something if i already know the answer i guess. i am however deciding between the 18v and 12v. i already have two 12v batteries because i have a milwaukee 12v drill, so i could buy tool only. or i could get the 18v and pay for new batteries and a charger. looks like the 12v can do lugs and stuff, but id hate to cheap out, and end up buying both.

any opinion on 12v vs 18v? im seeing good reviews for both.

For most standard DIY the 12 volt is fine. Bigger projects or those where longer battery life is a benefit the 18 rules. If your batteries are a few years old you may as well upgrade to the 18 now. Frequently see sets on sale for cheaper than the individual tools around here.

Calling any Australians or people who have been to Australia here...

Need a list of things you would suggest a bunch of Americans to do (or avoid) in/near the following places in April, in the strange case where this covid shit show stops being a thing. Yes, I know that covers a large geographic area, humor me. No, this isn't my idea.

Sidney
Cairns
Brisbane
Melbourne

Edit:. Also
Airlie Beach
Port Douglas

My holier then thou cousin is completely anti mask over the whole Covid situation. Fine, believe what you want. So since she refuses to wear one she decides to pickup our grandmother who has severe dementia from the nursing home and take her home for the afternoon since she does t want to mask up in the facility. Now grandma has to be on quarantine for two weeks in her room. She has no idea what is happening so she keeps getting in arguments with the facility director and leaving her room. So now she has to stay with my parents for who knows how long.

Her best excuse was, “I opened the door and she got in the car.”

Why? No reason. Just sounded fun
